In an absolute shocker of a surprise, G-MODE has announced a port of Bokujou Monogatari: Life & Love! This game was originally released for Japanese feature phones, pre-Smart Phones, and had been pretty much lost to time with sparsely available information. Unfortunately, the game is still exclusively available in Japanese, but it's still amazing that this game, and its original cast of characters, is finally becoming available again thanks to G-MODE and Marvelous.

Enjoy a heartwarming farm life while growing crops and interacting with animals! This title is a port of a title released in 2007 for feature phones in the popular series, which has been developed for numerous hardware platforms. It simultaneously includes “for Boy,” in which a boy is the main character, and “for Girl,” in which a girl is the main character. Enjoy ranch life while cultivating crops, raising cows and sheep on the farm, mining, and growing beautiful flowers in the flower garden! While running a ranch, you can deepen your relationship with the people in the village and get married if you get to know them well. Find your favorite partner from the different villagers in the “for Boy” and “for Girl” categories!

I can only hope that this means more of the "lost" Bokujou Monogatari phone games are on their way to be officially rereleased.

G-MODE Archives+ Xenosaga: Pied Piper announced for Switch, PC - Gematsu

G-MODE will release Namco-developed game Xenosaga: Pied Piper as a G-MODE Archives+ title for Switch via Nintendo eShop and PC via Steam in Japan, the company announced. A release date was not announced.

Xenosaga: Pied Piper is an RPG that originally launched for feature phones on July 14, 2004 in Japan.

Series Overview

A port of the classic title originally released in 2006 for feature phones, part of Bandai Namco acclaimed JRPG series, Xenosaga. A spin-off of the Xenosaga trilogy and part of the Xeno metaseries, the story follows the human life of cyborg Ziggy a key character in the Xenosaga trilogy—a century before the events of Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht.

Game Story

In this spin-off, Ziggy—who appeared in the main story as a cyborg—steps into the spotlight as the protagonist. The story centers on events 100 years before the main story, when he was still human and served in the Federal Police under the name Jan Sauer in counterterrorism operations. Can Jan and his special investigations unit stop the brutal killer codenamed Voyager before further chaos unfolds?

OU is a Japanese adventure game currently in development by G-MODE in collaboration with ROOM6, telling the story of a boy that wakes up with no memories of his past in a world populated by magical entities. Kodao Sakana’s lovingly hand-drawn visual style is highly expressive and haunting, transporting the player to a place of subtle beauty, melancholy and mystery. The manner in which the game has been presented is made even more unusual as the designers have integrated sentences written in Spanish, one of the characters being directly based on the Mexican myth of La Lorona, the weeping woman. The game is expected to launch this year for Steam and the Nintendo Switch.

KUUKIYOMI: Consider It! (Switch)

It’s Wario Ware, but for etiquette and slightly awkward social situations like behaving like a normal human being on the bus. The steady barrage of simple but completely unexplained microgames makes the comparison obvious, but there’s also a particular sense of humour here as ideas are introduced, developed and perverted in unexpected ways. A fun little oddity.

Another "lost" feature phone Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon game is re-surfacing thanks to G-MODE! Last year they released Life & Love, and now Minori no Shima, or, "Harvest Island!" As with Life & Love, this game was originally released for Japanese feature phones, pre-Smart Phones, and had been pretty much lost to time with sparsely available information. Unfortunately, the game is still exclusively available in Japanese, but it’s still amazing that this game, and its original cast of characters, is finally becoming available again thanks to G-MODE and Marvelous.

G-MODE will release ATLUS-developed game Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner: A’s TEST Server as a G-MODE Archives+ title for Switch via Nintendo eShop and PC via Steam in Japan, the company announced. A release date was not announced.

Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner: A’s TEST Server is an RPG that originally launched for feature phones on December 7, 2006 in Japan. A Complete Edition followed on February 26, 2007. This modern re-release is of the Complete Edition.

Series Overview

This title is an original entry in the Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga series, released exclusively for Japanese flip phones (mobile phones with limited functionality, popular before the rise of smartphones). Digital Devil Saga follows the Embryon, a tribe who fights against five other tribes in a digital world called the Junkyard.

Story

The story unfolds in a sealed, colossal tower known as the Tower of Karma. The protagonist, Serph, awakens with no memories. After meeting Sera—a mysterious girl whose strange song can quell the Devil’s rampaging power—he sets out to climb toward the tower’s upper reaches. Together, they search for the truth: why they are trapped here, and what caused Serph to lose his memory.
