I love the concept of both Twyla and Frankie being autistic in this new gen, but their autism presenting itself in different ways.

Like, Twyla comes off as more shy, and Frankie has absolutely zero filter and will speak when they want to speak jdjdj

And Twyla will get uncomfortable by certain sensory stimuli, but Frankie will literally touch anything and everything that they find curious, even if it’s something that shouldn’t be touched hjjhj.

I love how frequently therapy was brought up in Crushed with zero ridicule behind it. Heath goes to therapy? That’s awesome and it really supports him !!

And then Cleo encourages Frankie to meet with a therapist if they feel it will support them. There’s no “bruh, you need a therapist” in any way that would distill mortification in someone.

Therapy is nothing that should be shamed, and I think it’s wonderful that Monster High is integrating subjects of therapy in healthy ways that convey it as a support that everyone can use (which it is) :)

Okay, I could purely be saying this because Frankie is my favorite character in g3, but something has been on my mind lately, and I wanna share it here lol

I have noticed that, with Clawdeen and Draculaura, there have been scenes within this new series that involve these two characters emotionally connecting with another character. As someone with a hyperfixation does, I have examples haha:

1. Abbey being vulnerable with Draculaura and sharing her reason for leaving home in Nightmare Nightmore.

2. Draculaura sharing her secret to Lagoona after Lagoona had shared hers in Witch Hitch.

3. Clawdeen and Clawd bonding over their mother’s tamales and both striving for their mother’s safe return home in Paw-zzle Pieces.

However, aside from the very sweet scenes in Portrait of a Monster where Deuce and Frankie interact, we have never really seen Frankie share a vulnerable moment with another character. Especially a moment where both members of the conversation contribute something meaningful. As much as I adore Deuce and Frankie’s friendship dynamic in Portrait of a Monster, their interactions are mainly Deuce reassuring Frankie (which, I will admit, was so delightful, and I have watched those scenes dozens of times jdjdj). So, I can’t help but crave a scene where Frankie gets to interact with a newly introduced character. I am a real sucker for those vulnerable scenes of connection if you couldn’t tell fhfjhfj. 

Hence the reason why I (personally) would love to see Frankie share a moment like that with Twyla when she’s introduced in one of the upcoming episodes. Twyla is not used to interacting with other people because she hides in the shadows. Frankie is not used to interacting with people and being in social situations because they’re less than two months old LMAO.

Another small thing to add: now that it’s heavily hinted that Twyla is autistic (and Frankie has also been hinted at being autistic), this could really lend towards some connection between the two. They both struggle (in their own ways) with understanding aspects of social interaction (at least, I would assume that Twyla would struggle a little bit with that, considering that she’s prone to dwelling in the shadows instead of interacting with people). Even though they’re very different, they share some of the same experiences of being unfamiliar with a lot of things or not used to being in social situations. Idk if anyone agrees with me, but I would absolutely love some screen time between them !!

First seeing g3 Frankie’s animated design for the show, I immediately fell in love with the queer and disabled representation that they’re providing for the screen. But I will say that I was a little bit thrown off by the lack of a realistic prosthetic leg ddjdj. Usually, prosthetics have a socket for the residual limb, but Frankie’s leg is lacking that. I cut it some slack though, cause it’s a cartoon, and I’m not really picky, but...

I have learned, as of around a week ago, that osseointegration amputations/prosthetics are a thing?? It looks just like Frankie’s amputation?? Hello?? This is baffling me way more than it should be

Okay, so real talk about the Monster High fandom. No matter your MH generation preference, you are so valid! You are allowed to have favorites. However, I have seen so much hate and an almost “competitive” nature surrounding g1 vs g3 of Monster High. I’ve also seen some pretty hurtful comments all over the place (not necessarily here, thankfully. It’s heavily on Instagram and Tik Tok).

So, I am here to tell everyone that if you wouldn’t say it to a real person, don’t say it to a fictional character!! Sure, they’re fictional, but the way you treat a fictional character can actually portray how you may treat real people.

If you wouldn’t tell a nonbinary person that they’re “cringy” for sharing their pronouns, don’t say it to Frankie. If you wouldn’t tell a vegetarian individual that “it’s not possible for them to be ‘curvy’ because they’re vegetarian”, don’t say it to Draculaura. If you wouldn’t tell an amputee “you’re not a valid disabled person because you use a prosthetic device,” don’t say it to Frankie.

If you can not relate to these characters personally (examples: being nonbinary like Frankie or a POC like Clawdeen) and wish to say something hurtful, you shouldn’t even say it lol.
