Desperation’s Embrace: The Snake and the Raven - 1. Black Card
Bratty puppy is up one! Drake finally gets one over on Eirenelas when he recklessly gives him access to his black card. Now Eire really should have known better, he's messing a legendary trickster here
Here's the first of the comic series I have planned. Just random scenes of their relationship that go together (cause I don't want to commit to an actual full story comic). There's 10+ scenes that I have in mind so far. There's some for Kingsley too. His branch is called "The Hero and the Abyss".
Got asked what Robert would wear if he were to go on a date/fancy events, and this is it! Say thanks to @aj-thegreatest! He’s going to get a few more outfits.
Robert is in @princesscallyie ‘s next gen verse G:RS. Though ignore the lil YBA pin on his suit, I just put it there for fun.
Desperation’s Embrace: The Snake and the Raven - 2. Outfit Switch
Eirenelas brings Drake back to Moirathos for the first time after since they bonded and it seems Drake will now take on a new appearance while there.
Not even gonna lie to y'all... this idea definitely came about cause I wanted Drake in a more revealing outfit lol. And I do think it makes sense that they have matching outfits since they are two halves of a one whole now. Yeah Eire lowkey doesn't know a thing about what happening with their bond. He's just winging it which pisses Drake off when he asks questions.
First redesign of the two main boys as they go through their major character arcs.
Starting with Drake. It's supposed to give "when you leave you strict immigrant parents" vibe, as he embraces his own personal style not what his father wants him to be. Additional details includes the mark he received with when he bonded with Eirenelas. This special bond (which is called a celestial bond) gives Drake some of Eirenelas' abilities, mostly flight and superhuman agility (wing is not actual size, full sized couldn't fit).
Drake, Xiang, and Alisha were trained with traditional weapons by Taiyang. Drake with butterfly swords (hudie shuangdao), Xiang with the bo staff (this is a hint for Kingsley's redesign), and Alisha with a katana. It's not pictured here, but Drake goes back to using butterfly swords while working with Eirenelas.
Here's Kingsley's redesign. The unexpected glow up!
Kingsley's whole arc is that his desire for justice and to protect everyone, awakens a rage within him. He also develops a kinda twisted sense of morality as time goes by. As he starts to believe the end justifies the means, and the only way to get the upper hand is to play the same game their enemies are playing. Whatever the costs. As mentioned in the plot synopsis, Kingsley is angry, mostly at himself for being so weak. He feels like he's not meant to lead if he doesn't have the strength to protect everyone. He must become stronger to defeat the YBA and all evil. This leads to him finding and injecting himself with Jojo's Chemical X serum.
This serum is unstable as it's been sitting dormant for so long, and would have killed him if Hank and the rest of the Technology Department didn't band together to save him. Though his case is way more complicated than they can handle, so Kingsley is under the care of Blossom and the VL's generous benefactor, Dexter. Kingsley wears Dexter's invention, the Vita-Pack, to track his vitals and forces him into a "Cool-Down Cycle" if he happens to approach his limit, as limit breaking could be catastrophic for him. He can reach Limit Break by overexerting himself or by being consume with an intense rage, which he is prone to under the serum. Being called weak is a big trigger for him.
He uses a bo staff he designed himself after being trained by Taiyang and Xiang. His super enhanced muscle memory allowed him to learn to fight quicker than normal, though he still prefers to use his mind to gain the upper hand.
Okay so here's a funny comic that just shows a bit of Drake and Eirenelas' relationship. When Drake runs off he's pretty low on funds so has no choice but to be under the care of Eirenelas, who is very wealthy as the result of some of his bonds. He's not used to not being independent and not in charge, but he eventually gets used to it and learns that's it's kinda nice to be cared for and take it easy for once.
Desperation’s Embrace: The Snake and the Raven - 3. Hard to Believe
Here's a short sweet comic about these two since I did wanted to do something a bit more fluffy. It's still a bit funny cause Drake is being so irrational about Eirenelas doing nice things for him.
