hey! can you do a headcanon for gabe x reader where the reader is on their period and gabe does his best to comfort the reader :) thanks!
okay here comes that awkward wholesome Gabe content y’all love
Gabe would notice how strange Y/N was acting that day.
They were quiet and to themselves.
Lied down whenever they had a chance.
“I’m not feeling well,” they said.
Gabe could feel his heart quicken.
Getting sick in their world was bad.
“How bad?” Gabe asked. “You could be sick. Really sick. We should take you to Elanor or--”
Gabe paused his rambling.
Y/N blnked. “I’m on my period.”
Gabe blinked. “Your what?”
Kate never got around to having a proper ‘talk’ with Gabe.
They had other priorities.
And after Mariana passed away, she didn’t have the heart.
So, talking to Eleanor about it was a nightmare.
One where she kept rolling her eyes and scoffing ‘classic Kate.’
But, eventually, he learned.
But immediately knew he needed to be there.
Eleanor had told Y/N to take the day to rest.
Seeing as she had no pain killers she could give.
“We need to save them.” She said. “We can’t waste.”
And they groaned out a “ go away.”
And Y/N sat upright stiffly.
He had a basket full of things.
Fabric, blankets, water bottles, packages of food.
But most importantly, himself.
“You don’t need to say anything.” He said.
He held an arm out but almost lost his grip on the basket.
He stumbled and regained it.
“I’m here to help.” He said impishly.
Y/N smiled. “You didn’t need to do this.”
He took out a rolled up piece of fabric.
Inside was filled with uncooked rice.
“This is for you,” he said.
“Eleanor said it should help with,” he cleared his throat. “Cramps?”
Y/N smiled and sighed. “Thank you.”
Gabe set a water bottle by their bedside table.
And warmed up a small bowl of soup in the rooms ‘kitchen.’
And brought them some in bed.
“Are you going to stay?” Y/N asked.
Watching him wander around the room.
Gabe smiled. “Of course,”
“I’m not going anywhere.”
Helping pull the hair away from their face.
Passing them their water when they asked.
And they were already starting to feel better.
Gabe tried telling them stories to distract them.
While they leaned back and closed their eyes.
Trying to push past the pain.
Trying to bring them some company.
They would fall in and out of sleep.
And Gabe would make sure their hair wasn’t bugging them.
And would talk to them until they fell asleep again.
“Gabe?” They’d mumble sleepily.
They woke up as Gabe was slipping away their heating pad.
Going to heat it up again.
Half-asleep, they smiled at him.
And Gabe’s cheeks went warm. “Anytime.”
Gabe returned the heating pad.
And brushed at his cheek.
Distracted and mesmerized by then.
And Y/N hummed at the feeling.
It was a soft distraction.
A peaceful reminder of the gentleness of the world.
“I’m always going to be here,” he said softly.
Assuming they were asleep.
Their cheek going pink under his thumb.
“I’d like that,” they said.
