like yes —all of this will be answered in your meta. but like. please.
Karen’s dress. with the red and white and big swooping patterns and the ropes! the ropes! i know about your rope colour theory.
but there’s also your pink theory, right? with the constant comeuppance of pinks and reds. and the symbolism of pinks and reds. and Karen being in red and white —essentially pink— with ropes tied around her has to mean SOMETHING.
and the green on Denny. usually i don’t notice things like this. but the green was so bright and so stark. and it wasn’t just his suit, it was lining his shoes and it just seems important somehow.
also, im always in your inbox. usually on anon.
but you make me feel safe. so im trying to be brave.
<33
Hey again Gabi!!!
I'm so very touched and humbled by the fact that I've made you feel safe enough to come off anon - honestly I actually don't know what to say to it, other than thank you for trusting me and know I'm always here to chat. Feeling safe is so important and I can't put into words what it means to me that you feel that way about my silly little blog.
I'm going to make you wait for my meta for most of this, but I'll give you a little to be going on with!
Yes I have rope theory, but the rope belt doesn't really fall into this category, its more, for me at least a physical reference to the strings of fate that bind people to one another (think Carla's video chat with Chris in 4x02) in this instance, representing Karens family ties - Hen,Denny, Toni etc.
As for the green on Denny - its such a bright and vibrant green - like fresh new leaves on the trees or new grown grass - Denny is in some ways the symbol of HenRen's future and basically that is what the green represents - renewal - very appropriate for a vow renewal don't you think!!
The rest will have to wait for my meta I'm afraid!!
[ braid ] for your muse to braid mine’s hair (Gabi)
@tckenbythesky
Sitting with Lou in front of her, wine close at hand, the pair were a few sheets to the wind and giggling about nothing or everything depending on the moment. Gabi’s fingers started working through the unruly mass that was Lou’s hair and she eventually grabbed a hairbrush to work on the snarls. “Dunno how your hair continually does this...” she muttered, working on it, smoothing it. And then, French braiding.
“Lou... I love you, but we have to do something for your hair to keep it tamed...”
About the previous ask (Gabi's inheriting Eren's power theory) The people who were talking about the theory literally have no solid evidence. They just think that Eren was communicating with the future successor of the attack titan in the mirror scene, and since Gabi was talking about no giving up in front of a similar mirror, they think it's a foreshadowing that she could inherit Eren's power. What they say is just based on this parallel . And thanks for the answer, I agree with you ❤.
Referenced ask.
You know, I never understood the obsession the fandom has with that mirror in chapter 106. Before this Gabi thing, it was Eren communicating with little Eren in that cabin. What’s up with that? Am I missing some pop culture reference to mirrors and their use in fiction? As far as I know, mirrors are narrative instruments of self-reflection and self-affirmation (which is what Eren does: he reaffirms his resolve by staring dead ahead into his own soul…).
I don’t know what the link between a mirror and a fucking window was back when the fandom insisted Eren was manipulating little Eren.
And now I don’t know why Eren would communicate with Gabi this time. Like, if we try and use for this purpose the only time a mirror was used with meaning in SnK, then we can pick apart that one scene of Eren seeing Frieda looking at herself in the mirror, but it still doesn’t make any sense:
- Eren, when seeing that memory, wasn’t looking into a mirror/window;
- Eren didn’t receive any message or intention at the time;
- the meaning behind the use of a mirror was clearly just to unveil some stuff about Frieda AND Eren AND Grisha, so we could try and put the pieces together about what happened to her;
- Frieda never had the Attack Titan so it can’t be used as Eren’s/the AT’s ability, it was just a normal memory. Also, the Attack Titan can only send* memories to the past, so it doesn’t make sense for Gabi to “receive” something from the past. She should see something from the future, if anything at all. (*we still don’t know if it’s a choice of the shifter or it’s random!)
- If Gabi saw Eren reflected in her own mirror much like Eren saw Frieda, no way she would be fired up. She would be spooked. The same applies if she merely received a voicecall message from Eren (just look at how scared Grisha was).
Basically, the two scenes aren’t linked based on the Attack Titan’s abilities. So…I guess that’s it? This “theory” makes no sense. I still think it’s just a poorly-depicted, awkward parallel.
Leaning into Alex, loose, she was several glasses of wine in. Gabi spoke, slowly, and about everything. “I love you. You’re so pretty, Alex...” she murmured, kissing his hand. And her eyes were heavy. “I love you. So a lot.” Because she did. No one more than him. Giggled. “I wish... I wish you knew. Knew about how I want a thing.” She nodded. “Everyone. They think I’m jus’... Jus’ pretty and good on TV. Thass all they think I want.” She laughed again. “I want... I want so much. I want to be top at work. Y’know? The boss. I want... I want a house with you. Not in the city. I want...” She bit her lip. “I want a baby. I wanna have a baby with you. One day. Later.”

Your brain is so beautiful that sometimes I just wanna study you under a microscope.
eating glass anticipating the finale today.
it’s still about five hours for me.
but like —please. your brain.
i love it.
on a more serious note —Buck and TK being in more saturated colours of the Eddie Ana breakup spell that it’s going to be more explosive than the relatively amicable breakup for Eddie and Ana right?
cause i wanna see anger and pain and tears.
and the green on buck lends to buck being the one to breakup with her, right???
please tell me im right?
Gabi!!!!
I don't know what I did to deserve such a compliment, but I will take it - not sure my brain would make a very interesting study, but I'm always happy sharing my knowledge with everyone!
You are so right!! The darker colours definitely mean more explosive - hopefully you've seen my last answer to an ask about the costumes in that scene, But I also want anger and tears - they tortured me (and everyone) with Taylor for 18 episodes - the takedown had better be damn good.
But yes the green being on Buck also leans towards him being the one to do the breaking up - I'm just not 100% its going to happen in this scene - there is another scene where Buck is in the same outfit as the one he refers to in this sneak peak scene - that might very well be the break up scene (its either that or its a blazing row before but the speech in this scene suggests this comes before the break up!)

#17 “If you turn down the Christmas music, I’ll murder you.”
send me a holiday prompt!
Gabriela Corona loved Christmas. It was a love that had been in existence since she first understood what the word Christmas even meant, the winter holiday season being one of the few times of the year where she was consistently happy. She wasn’t sure if it was the winter breaks she used to receive during her school years or the time she got to spend with her father without his work interfering. She wasn’t sure if it was her addiction to hot chocolate and eggnog no longer being seen as weird given it was the month to actually indulge in such drinks. She wasn’t sure if it was due to growing up in Manhattan, where she got to see winter snow and go ice skating at Rockefeller Center. She wasn’t sure if it was the presents or the giving spirit of the season or the fact that she got to binge all of her favorite Christmas and holiday movies. She didn’t know what made her love Christmas, but she did.
And more specifically, she loved Christmas music.
Case in point was that in her penthouse, holiday themed music was currently blaring at a somewhat unhealthily high tone. The current song at the moment was Last Christmas by Wham!, with George Michael’s story of holiday heartache crooning across her apartment. She was bobbing her head in amusement to the song as she put up a few more decorations on the Christmas tree that stood in the corner of her apartment, lights twinkling in the dimmed space. Taking a step back to grin at her work, a tall blond working to untangle a pile of ornament hooks caught her eye.
In all her years on this planet, she never once thought that Steve Rogers — Captain fucking America — would be in her apartment helping her decorate for the holidays. It was an amusing sight, watching the man who could more than likely kill her one handed struggle to untangle lights or make confused faces at her ornaments that referenced things that he had yet to experience. It also made her kind of sad, to be completely honest. It was his first Christmas since he had come off of the ice, into a world where he knew nearly no one.
Which is exactly why when she had decided that she was going to decorate her apartment on December 1st, she had made sure to basically tell Steve he was coming over. She worried over him, a lot. It was the beginning stages of their relationship, but she wanted to make certain that he knew that he was cared for and that he wasn’t going to be spending his first twenty-first century Christmas alone.
Glancing over her shoulder to make certain that Dax — who she had also roped into helping her apartment get holiday ready — was still in the kitchen getting a snack, she plucked a specific decoration out of one of her boxes. As she did this, the song switched to All I Want for Christmas Is You, the opening sounds of Mariah Carey’s voice easily coming through the speakers. Grinning to herself, she stepped over to where Steve sat on the couch, perching next to him.
Steve glanced up, an easy smile covering his lips. God, his smile could outrank Christmas on the list of things she loved any day. Gabriela grinned devilishly, before she revealed the decoration she had hidden in her hand, dangling it over their heads with a flourish. Steve glanced up in confusion, but a blush easily settled on his cheeks when he realized what it was.
A single sprig of mistletoe.
“You know, the rules on mistletoe and holiday etiquette say you gotta kiss me, Captain,” Gabriela told him, giggling.
Steve laughed lightly, but there was still a pinkness to his cheeks. This happened quite often. Steve was rather … unaccustomed to how forward Gabi could be sometimes. She’d never push him into anything he didn’t want to do, but God, sometimes she liked to watch him squirm when it came to things like kissing out of the blue.
“Well,” Steve started, a soft smile on his face. “I guess I have to follow the rules.”
Still holding the mistletoe, Gabi broke out into a wide grin, before tossing the mistletoe to the side. She leaned forward, looping her arms around his neck and pulling him into a kiss. Kissing Steve was like fireworks, electricity crackling in the distance. Actually, the electricity part was true. Even from a distance and her attention completely off of it, she could feel the lights on the tree flickering as she momentarily got lost in the moment. She normally had total control of her powers and didn’t make things flicker or spark involuntarily, but with Steve … sometimes she couldn’t help herself.
However, there was one disturbance that she did catch sight of, one she knew wasn’t her fault at all.
She abruptly pulled back from the kiss and glanced over her shoulder. “Dax Gonzalez, take your hand off of that fucking volume dial or I swear to God I will shock the hell out of you.”
And there stood Dax, complete with Christmas cookie stuffed into his mouth, looking like a deer in the headlights. His hand was half on the volume button for the speaker, but he quickly removed it under his best friend’s murderous glare. Swallowing his mouthful of sugar and chocolate, he told her, “But it’s so fucking loud, the entire building doesn’t need to hear it!”
“Mariah Carey did not make this song for it to be turned down, it is a goddamn classic and Steve will not be deprived of his first exposure to it,” she said sternly, nodding her head back at her boyfriend who looked like he wanted to laugh. “Now back away from that speaker because if you turn down the Christmas music, I’ll murder you.”
