It’s less of a line and more of a small conversation for Carry the Light Chapter 3: Clashing Ideals

Below the cut because spoilers (and one line is a bit risque)

Sun spun around, pink from embarrassment as he saw Nora andWeiss standing against the wall. He let out a nervous chuckle, scratching theback of his neck.

               "Heythere, Nora," he said.  "HeyWeiss. Sup?"

               "Justgot done with training," Weiss sighed. "Failed the hand to handagain."

               "That'sbecause you let Blake get you on your right side," Nora teased.

               "Don'tremind me." Weiss shook her head, looking thoroughly annoyed. "I canhandle most other opponents, but I can't get a good hold on Coco or Blake. Coco'stoo rough and Blake's too quick. And a bit of a jerk."

               "Don'tworry about her," Sun assured. "She's always like that. She's veryBlakey"

               "Whatabout you?" Nora asked. "Branwen still being a hardass on you?"

               "That'san understatement!" Sun joined them against the wall, tugging at his hair."He's been like this ever since I joined. And that was almost, what, threeyears ago?"

               "Hedoesn't exactly act like a normal captain," Weiss muttered. "I bumpedinto him the other night before curfew and he smelt of whiskey and called me'Ice Queen Jr.' The guy is a dick."

               "Ithought he liked dicks," Nora snickered.

               "Nora!"

               "What?!"

               "TMI,Nora," Sun moaned. "Seriously though. Qrow's just being especiallyharsh today."

               Noralooked at him, brow raised in worry. "Sun? You sure you're okay?"

               "I'mfine."

               "Youknow," Weiss said. "It's alright to not be okay. No one expects youto be all the time."

               "Qrowdoes."

               "Qrowdoesn't matter right now." Weiss gave him a punch on the shoulder."Look...do you want to do training with us tomorrow?"

               Sun lookedat her, managing a small grin. "I'd love to, but I'm having lessons withGramps tomorrow in repairs. But-" he pushed himself off the wall, bowingto the two of them "-if you'd be so kind as to accompany me and Neptune toye old bakery this evening, I'd be happy to pay."

               Thegirls looked between each other, lips pursed in silent discussion. Sun watchedas they took turns shrugging and nodding toward him. He was rather surprised.He'd known Nora for years, but she seemed to take on a whole new persona aroundWeiss. Still the chipper repair ward talent he knew, but a bit more reserved.He had to admit, it was rather scary.

               "Areyou really gonna pay?" Nora asked slowly.

               "Yes,"Sun said, trying to mask the worry in his voice.

               "Verywell," Weiss said, grabbing his arm. "We shall accompany you."

               Noragrabbed his other arm, smirking as they ran forward. "Let's go! To findNeptune!"

               "Wait-"Sun started.

               Thegirls ran off, dragging him through the halls with sing-song voices filling hisears.

               Maybe this was a bad idea.

I feel like Oz would be an owl, Ruby a robin, James I see as an eagle for some reason, Penny a cuckoo. Nora I think would be a peregrine falcon, and Blake as--I think a Nightingale? I think that's the bird??? The black ones with yellow eyes that have a sort of glossy purple sheen to them, idk. ALSO THIS QUESTION EXCITES ME :D

Oz is a wise-ass owl, Ruby would be a cardinal maybe? Blake a blackbird, Penny a cuckoo, James a peregrine falcon, and Nora a seagull.

This is a varied amount of answers. I’ll have to narrow them down for this fic.
