"What did I do wrong?"

“You didn’t do anything wrong, Qrow,” Oz promised, his forehead pressed firmly against his partner’s. “That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you.”

“But if I had just talked to her, reasoned with her, went after her, I-” Qrow choked.

“No! Qrow, stop,” Oz snapped, pulling away.

“Stop what?”

“Stop playing this ‘what if’ game. Your sister made her choice. You are not responsible for this.”

“But… she left her kid, Oz. She left because she was mad at me.”

“Darling, please.” A tear dripped down Qrow’s face as Oz continued, “Raven travelled to another continent. You cannot honestly believe that your little spat led to that.”

“I don’t know…” Qrow sniffled, his eyes glued to the floor.

Another tear rolled down Qrow’s cheek, but Oz caught it with a brush of his thumb before it hit the floor. “Oh, my little crow, come here, please.”

Finally, Qrow collapsed into Oz’s arms, burying his head in the crook of his neck.

Oz held him close, talking into his hair, “You are not to blame, love. Raven was running away from much more than just your sibling rivalry.”

In fact, Oz was almost certain that this was his fault. After all, Raven did not respond well to the news that Salem was closing in, and they were running out of time.

7. Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?

Answered here! To get slightly more specific, in the past couple volumes there were plenty of things I had wanted to or expected to like, only for them to devolve into glorified plot devices to get the next part of the story rolling. I a fool thinking the absolute understanding and support of v4′s version of Ren and Nora was also at the very least the foundation and absolution of their relationship if not meant to serve as an actual upgrade only to have to sit through whatever their poorly-defined drama is right now.

20. What is the purest ship in the fandom?

Tiger please that’s such a loaded question in these purist culture times, what does that even mean.

I mean, ozqrow/cloqwork remains the end-all be-all of RWBY OTPs for me, but canon sure has some things to say about where the line’s drawn there and even as a shipper those boys are a couple of concentrated disasters. Part of the fun is the angst element, although I admit v6 aside I did like the idea that they were mutually devoted in spite of the baggage.

Ahhh man, what would be the purest ship??? They all have their own drama going on now. Before v7 renora would’ve been a viable answer but they seem pretty interested in deconstructing that right now. Ruby, Oscar, and Penny started out as some of the purest characters, but even they have too much going on currently to say they wouldn’t be dragging a lot into a relationship. Maybe Tai/Summer is the purest ship in the fandom? But then poor Summer’s got more of a reputation than a personality for now...

I feel terrible but I think I gotta say OG Ozma/Salem, for literally being a fairy tale romance till the day he died. That said, Ozma 2.0/Salem and any subsequent Salem relationships in general are...the complete opposite of that.

...Actually if Zwei ever gets a love interest, that will be the purest ship in the fandom.

26. Most shippable character?

That depends on how you interpret Ozma/pin?! Is he a singular immortal with an assimilation curse? Is he an amalgam of reincarnations? Is he a combination of the latest and previous incarnations with a lot of memories? How much individuality do the lives taken get to keep? How long will Oscar Pine and Ozpin qualify as separate identities? Forever? Until inconsistently foreshadowed integration? Ozpin has lifetimes of experience, but has he had lifetimes of experiences and by extension, relationships??? On that note by cumulative entity rules do Ozma ships technically net in Ozma’s own relationships along with all subsequent incarnations including Ozpin and Oscar??? I just don’t know. It haunts me.

Existential meta crisis aside, I have a bunch of OTPs specifically in this fandom, so as far as someone who I ship a lot...hmm. Ruby’s an easy answer as the lead character, I guess? My older-gen ships are pretty set and my younger-gen ships aren’t nonexistent but I’m less interested in pursuing them...

Although while we’re talking about most shippable, I super enjoyed the fanmade visual novel game Summer Rose Court which lets you ship Ruby with anyone as far as major v1 student characters are concerned--JNPR, Weiss, Blake, even Penny--and the fantasy storyline itself is a lot of fun. Also cloqwork is canon in it so

Ozpin has to dig his nails into his palm to remind himself to breathe.

"How much of your soul do you really have left to piecemeal away?"

"You don't have to stay."

Qrow flinches. It's the wrong thing to say - it's all wrong, really. They no longer have easy choices between them. It's true; Ozpin doesn't have enough of himself left. There is a constant, low pain in his bones, and he's forgotten so much.

So RT already killed one gay-coded man (Ozpin) and now they just did another. Do... do they really hate the idea of Qrow being shipped with guys or are they just really into the 'bury your gays if they're adult men' trope?

Idek know anymore, Tiger, but it’s so frustrating. Made worse that Ozpin is still just... gone. I mean, I’m kind of expecting for him to make at least a short appearance next week, but at the same time I wouldn’t put it past RT to continue ignoring him either. Also, shipping aside---because I admit that coding is more complicated than straight up, obvious queer baiting and that some fans may not see the issue---do they just have something against Qrow and growth/happiness? Not that I expect everything to be hunky-dory for a group immersed in a war, but this poor guy has moved from being a bandit, to losing Summer, losing Ozpin in the Fall, nearly dying from poison (hey, writers, you remember that happening when you had Qrow fighting beside Tyrian...?), get thoroughly screwed by his sister, fall out with Ozpin, absolutely lose himself to drink, all the while hating himself for his semblance, and then the moment he (randomly) decides to start making positive changes and makes a friend that could help him that’s immediately snatched away in the most horrific way possible? Not even just through a regular tragedy via battle but by making Qrow culpable and screwing up his characterization to do it? You’re really gonna not only kill off Clover but make Qrow irrationally gun for Ironwood as a result, the last friend he has considering that everyone still hates Ozpin and Tai is forgotten off in Patch? 

...man, that’s a lot.

37. Do you have any LGBT+ idols?

You know, its really funny that you’d ask that cause like, thinking about it, getting to know you, Tiger and the rest of the little cloqwork community was really my catalyst for understanding asexuality and finding myself in it. I spent so long feeling so lost whenever the topic of identity came up because nothing ever seemed to fit and there’s genuinely so little Ace representation in either the general community or media/ fandom spaces. Getting to know everyone and feeling that sense of belonging really helped me come into my own and gave me confidence in my identity for the first time in pretty much ever. 

So I guess you could say that You are all my idols ^-^’.

39. Do you have a type in partners?

God I wish I knew. I always seem to be the last one to know.
