I agree, but I think there’s the desire to make Gabe out to be the good guy because of the heresay from Shaw that it was mostly Gabe’s fault. There’s this tendency to try to black and white things, and you can’t do that in real life.

Everything has different shades of varying colors. And unfortunately, Jack’s gonna get hate because of being the golden boy, which means he’s automatically going to come across as arrogant and standoffish.

Add in to the voice lines in game- you get a gruff, “bitter” individual. Same for Gabe, except you get the smoother, joking lines- even as Reaper.

So they extrapolate that to use it as indicators for personality.

But they don’t take into effect tonal quality, or possible other histories.

It’s... frustrating from the lack of lore we’re given, but at the same time it gives a lot of play to allow us to make whole universes. Even if some of those are anti-Jack or Anti-Gabe. :< Never said it was a /good/ mindset, but here we are.
