Fact #2

Dracunyan's design originates from a Corocoro contest where people got to design their own Yo-kai, with the winners getting their Yo-kai in the game. So-Sorree originates from this same contest, which had its results announced in January of 2014.

Apart from some different coloration, Dracunyan's design in the magazine looks almost identical to his final design. He was designed by Yuta Yamamoto.

Some less angsty Yokai headcanons because I have gone into angst overload with slimamander

Sgt. Burly is actually pretty good with kids. Of course he’s a little bit loud and energetic, but he’s a decent role model and he can keep kids busy with fun exercise routines!

Sailornyan loves anime. Mostly magical girls, but she’s also been seen watching NGE, of all things, along with Madoka and some similar shows (or, if said shows don’t exist in this universe, then their equivalents ‘>w>). She collects figures and keeps them in perfect shape. Most of her other outfits are either semi-cosplay or merch. 

Additionally, she tends to use text emotes (:3, o_o,>w<, yknow...) and overall her typing is similar to the whole 2009 “so random” style. The only way this changes is if it’s a more serious/formal conversation.She frequents anime forums and has gotten into deep debates on the nature of certain shows. She’s always as respectable and calm as possible, though it seems insulting certain shows gets her a bit heated.

Dracunyan likes watching old horror media. From b-movies to the Twilight Zone, this little vampire can’t get enough! While he only really needs blood, he prefers Chocobars, though it seems he’s more likely to choose dark or premium chocolate over the normal ones.

Fact #46

Many Yo-kai came from various design contests and other such things.

The first of these is where Dracunyan and So-Sorree originate from, with them being designed by Yuta Yamamoto and Sakigake Jikumaru respectively.

Horizontail and Sighborg Y come from another one of these contests, designed by Fuka Okawa and Souta Fukushima respectively.

Slippy and Bitter Batter were designed by students of Class 5-2 in Omuta Municipal Ginsui Elementary School. While not a contest, this was broadcasted on Japanese variety show program Kagaijugyō Yōkososenpai.

And finally, a cat Yo-kai with similar design aspects to Tomnyan in Bobnyan also originated from a design contest, though it's hard to know if the inspiration was intentional (I unfortunately can't find the name of the person who designed Bobnyan on the wiki, so if anyone has any idea, please let me know!).
