Unexpectedly, the team is divided into two camps: those who are obsessed with collecting things, and those who aren't.
What kind of collections are we talking about? The kind where you open a bunch of blind packs, hoard a massive stack of duplicates, and spend a ridiculous amount of money in the process. You curse your luck, your life, and ask yourself a hundred times "do I even need this?" only to go right back and open another pack. These people are Shiro, Coran, and Lance.
Lance is a fan of completing sticker albums, while Shiro is the one who collects trading cards. Coran, meanwhile, prefers to invent some bizarre collection in his own head, deciding for himself what and how much he needs. Though he happily joins Lance and Shiro's unboxing marathons.
On the flip side, there's the rest of the team. Hunk, who has listened to enough of Lance’s complaining about it being a scam and a waste of money, and who unsuccessfully tried to put Lance on a budget. Pidge, who would much rather profit off collectors than actually become one. Allura, who absolutely does not see the point in any of this.
And standing somewhere off to the side is Keith. They occasionally ask him to open a new pack for them because he somehow manages to pull the exact missing piece they need for their collections. They yell "Lucky hand!" (in Shiro's case) or "Cheater!" (in Lance's case). Keith refuses to admit that he actually enjoys it, even though he knows for a fact he wouldn't have the patience to complete a collection himself.
