"What's on your mind?" He asked, you ignored him, Tamsy’s eyes were the first thing you noticed every time, you don't know why. Tamsy Caines' eyes were white, yellow, sometimes it was beige.
When he looked at you, it felt like he was not staring as much as he's resting his eyes there.
Up close, you realized that they weren’t flat at all. There was something mysterious about his eyes, like colors piling up that you almost missed the second one. There's a colour blue on the surface this time; it's not always visible. Like the way the rings of Saturn disappear depending on how the sun hits them.
You cant tell where one color ended and the other began. You're not sure you're meant to.
They weren’t beautiful in the obvious way. To be honest, his eyes made him harder to read. You kept looking anyway.
Beige is a colour most people ignore. You don't blame them, beige is boring. beige is the colour of sunlight through the dust. beige is the colour of Corvus' papers. beige is the colour of Tamsy's eyes where it blended so well in the background no one noticed there was an imposter among you.
But you realised the colour beige wouldn't be a colour without blue. And they only showed up sometimes. Youre not even sure if it was really there in Tamsy's eyes or if it was just the light reflecting. When you did see the blue colour, it felt colder and quieter than the beige, that makes you want to split Tamsy's head open just to see what he's thinking or to see his true colors. The real him.
Those two colors together makes you think of the rings of Saturn; Thin and pale, and easy to miss unless you looked closely. Something that's not meant to be noticed at all, all of them kept circling anyway. And you noticed it, every time. You hated that you're the only one who kept noticing that something's wrong with Tamsy.
... What the hell, you're getting too poetic just because of some eyes??? Pablo Neruda and Charles Baudelaire would be proud of you, but you're too poetic it's disgusting and you're embarrassing yourself!
Anyway, beige was the colour for angels, Satan is Lucifer once. You wonder if Tamsy hates his eyes as much as Satan hates his former name. Blue was the colour for things you couldn't save.
Tamsy told you that he hates the Sphere once. You shrugged, "I think I saw God through your eyes."
Tamsy Caines looked shocked for a moment but he smiled, it was a beautiful thing.
