I'd like some advice on what to do about a sudden swarm of scam accounts that have been mentioning me: Normally, there's only one or two of any kind of scam account showing up at a time, but today, I started getting ones that show up in threes or fours at once. The screenshots below showcase the two incidents I've had with them, with the second one being the most recent (as of writing this).

Each of them line up with the type of account verification scam mentioned in this post -: https://www.tumblr.com/scam-alerts/819420589093748736/i-got-tagged-by-this-user-telling-me-suspicious?source=share, and I followed your instructions in hopes of getting rid of them.

More of these bots arrived about two hours after I reported the first batch of them to Tumblr, and I have some suspicions that you may be able to help me with: Given that they came back after I reported them and operate in bigger groups than normal, is it possible that whoever (or whatever) is behind these accounts is employing a flooding tactic to deter reporting, make reporters look like bots, or clog up the Tumblr report system? Or is this just a uncoordinated selection of spam accounts that are targeting the same people at the same time?

Thanks in advance for any and all guidance you can give, and keep up the good work!

I've noticed an influx of these bots as well, especially today, I think they're big mad that staff figured out how to track down their posts easier when they're being made, and so now they've amped up their efforts to mass produce their scam to try and get someone, anyone to fall for it.

I'm keeping track of these blogs myself and as of 30 seconds ago a fresh new wave has just went out... It's frustrating that scammers have stooped this low for a quick buck, but all I can suggest to people is to keep calm, and report the blogs making the scam posts rather than the ones spamming users via comments.

Just remember to breath, and if you ever have doubts, take a few seconds to do some research.

Also stop and think for a second,

The website on this phishing tumblr page is not 'tumblr dot com,' so that right there is your first red flag. Second, you didn't sign in, so it's 100% NOT linked to your account. So.. how is it unique to you/fixing your account if other users are being @ spammed with it? It just asks you to click 'verify' then to pay money... (it's actually worse than that btw)

Remember (sorry for making this big btw):

You never paid to sign up and use [tumblr], and you will never have to pay for anything in relation to an account issue. The only thing you, a user, will ever have to pay for, is something you choose to buy from their official TumblrMart store.

That's it.

[tumblr] will not ask you to pay to verify your account. [tumblr] will not ask you to pay to fix an account issue. [tumblr] will not ask you for your social security number. [tumblr] will not ask you to mail a check to a UK address.

[tumblr] staff does not use whatsapp, discord, or any other platform to talk to users about account issues or to 'fix' account issues. Anyone who posts, or messages you telling you to contact a staff member via any method outside of tumblr dot com or their official email accounts, is 100% going to scam you.

Especially if they tell you to change your email or password.

But you're bored and it's not the storm's problem, Gris already taken off his outer coat earlier, and wringing it out slowly with his hands, and there's you watching him like a creep because there was nothing else to do.

"hey gris," you called your boyfriend, "if we were married, what would you do?"

There was a pause and Gris blinked before turning around to look at you, then he laughed because Gris is like that. "What would i do if were married?"

You nodded, smiling cuz you prolly think Gris would say something about renting a tuxedo or having Bro or Enjin as his best man or something. But Gris proved you wrong with this:

"If were married... I think we'd quit being supporters and rent a tiny apartment above a bakery nobody heard of,” Gris said, and as he spoke he leaned back against the wall, one arm resting loosely over his knee, he mused as he went on "and the floor would creek, our neighbours would be loud as hell, the wallpaper probably be ugly that you'd complain about it to me, but every morning I'd bring you coffee while we complain about the rent."

You blinked, cuz what could you say to that?

Gris shifted slightly, adjusting his position so he was facing you more directly now, but his mind was clearly in this hypothetical marriage life of yours, and your heart ache and warmth at the possibility of it all.

"i think what I'd like the most is laundry drying in the sun and dinner burning in the stove, if that's our marriage would look like..." Gris paused there, eyes softening in a way that didn’t quite match the world outside, "... I'd call us lucky."

Realising you're not saying anything, Gris coughed in his hand and laughed awkwardly scratching his neck, "Sorry, was that too much?"

Pairing: Hoshina Soshiro x Reader

Genre: Fluff, comedy, chaotic domestic energy

Warning: None. Just Hoshina being a dramatic husband and Mina being a menace.

The first time the Third Division finds out Vice Captain Hoshina is married, it's an accident.

Kafka had asked, offhandedly, "Anyone special in your life, Vice Captain?" while they were eating lunch. Hoshina had grunted, pulled out his phone, and showed a photo.

A photo of you. Smiling. Wearing his jacket. Holding a cat.

"Wife," he said. "Three years."

Kafka choked on his rice. Reno dropped his chopsticks. Kikoru's eye twitched.

"You're MARRIED?!"

Hoshina blinked. "Did I not mention it?"

NO. HE DID NOT MENTION IT. FOR THREE YEARS.

The second time is when you show up to bring him lunch.

You'd texted: "Forgot your bento again. Outside."

He meets you at the gate. Takes the bag. Kisses your forehead. Says, "Thanks, love," and walks back inside.

You wave. Leave.

The entire division watched from the windows.

"WHO WAS THAT?!" Kafka screamed.

"My wife," Hoshina said, already opening the bento. "She makes excellent tamagoyaki."

"YOU HAVE A WIFE?!"

"I literally just told you."

"THAT WAS TWO HOURS AGO. I DIDN'T THINK YOU WERE SERIOUS."

But here's the thing everyone at Division 3 thinks they know.

They think Hoshina has a thing for Captain Ashiro.

Why? Because he's loyal to her. Defers to her in battle. Followed her since the beginning. There are rumors. Whispers. The kind of gossip that sprouts in any workplace where two attractive, competent people work closely together.

Hoshina knows about the rumors. He doesn't care.

Mina knows about the rumors. She finds them deeply annoying.

You know about the rumors. You think they're hilarious.

The truth is far more chaotic.

Mina Ashiro, Captain of the Third Division, fearsome kaiju killer, ice queen extraordinaire, has one weakness.

Your cooking.

It started innocently. You made extra portions one night and told Hoshina to share with his team. He brought some to Mina. She took one bite. Her eyes widened.

"Who made this?"

"My wife."

"Bring more tomorrow."

And because Mina Ashiro does not ask—she commands—you suddenly had a standing Tuesday meal prep for the Captain.

Then Wednesday.

Then Friday.

Then Mina started texting you directly.

"Name. What's for dinner?"

"Captain. You can't just—"

"I'm not asking."

You sighed. Sent her your schedule. She showed up at your door that evening with groceries and a bottle of wine.

Hoshina came home to find his wife and his captain in the kitchen, drinking, laughing, and absolutely destroying a pot of curry.

"What," he said, "is happening."

"Your wife is teaching me to make katsu," Mina said, not looking up. "Sit down or leave."

He sat down.

He had no choice.

This becomes a pattern.

Mina starts "borrowing" you on your days off.

"Captain, I have plans—"

"Cancelled. We're making mochi."

"But—"

"That's an order."

You'd show up at the base with Mina, both of you covered in flour, and the division would stare.

"Is that... the Vice Captain's wife?"

"With Captain Ashiro?"

"Why are they holding grocery bags?"

"They look... happy?"

Reno, the only sensible one, squinted. "I think Captain Ashiro is stealing his wife."

Hoshina confronts her.

"Mina. Stop stealing my wife."

"I'm not stealing her. She chooses to spend time with me."

"Because you ORDER her to."

"I order her to cook. She chooses to stay because she likes me." Mina took a sip of tea. "Your wife told me you leave your socks on the floor. Honestly, Soshiro, she deserves better."

Hoshina sputtered. "She—that's—we're MARRIED."

"And I'm her favorite captain."

"YOU'RE MY CAPTAIN."

"I'm everyone's favorite captain."

The division watches this argument happen in real time.

Kafka: "Are they... fighting about his wife?"

Kikoru: "Captain Ashiro is definitely flirting."

Reno: "With the WIFE. She's flirting with the WIFE."

Mina: "Y/N is coming over again tonight. We're making dumplings. You're not invited, Soshiro."

Hoshina: "SHE'S MY WIFE."

Mina: "Then learn to cook."

The rumor mill goes into overdrive.

"Hoshina has a thing for Captain Ashiro!"

"No, Captain Ashiro has a thing for his WIFE!"

"Is this a love triangle?"

"It's a love SQUARE at this point. Who's the fourth?"

"Kafka. It's always Kafka."

Kafka, who is just trying to eat his lunch: "WHY AM I INVOLVED?!"

You, meanwhile, are blissfully unaware of the chaos.

You're just happy to have friends. Mina is intense but kind. She doesn't treat you like "the Vice Captain's wife"—she treats you like you. She asks about your day. Remembers your favorite tea. Defends you when Hoshina forgets to do the dishes.

"She called me a menace," Hoshina complains one night.

"Because you are a menace."

"I'm your HUSBAND."

"And I love you. But you're still a menace. Mina thinks so too."

"Stop agreeing with Mina."

"Stop giving her reasons to agree with."

He groans. Falls face-first onto the couch. You pat his head.

"I married a traitor," he mumbles into the cushion.

"You married the woman who makes you tamagoyaki. Be grateful."

The final straw happens at a division banquet.

Everyone is there. Officers from other divisions. Important people. Mina is looking stunning in her dress uniform. Hoshina is looming protectively next to you.

An officer from Division 2 approaches. Looks at Hoshina. Looks at Mina. Leans in.

"So, Hoshina. When are you and Captain Ashiro going to—"

"She's my WIFE," Hoshina snaps, grabbing your hand and shoving it in the officer's face. Your wedding ring catches the light.

The officer blinks.

"I'm married. To HER. Not Mina. MY WIFE. HER." He points at you. Then at Mina. "And Mina keeps STEALING her to MAKE DUMPLINGS."

Mina, from across the room: "The dumplings were excellent, by the way."

You wave. "Thanks, Captain!"

"You're welcome, Y/N."

Hoshina makes a sound like a dying animal.

The officer backs away slowly.

Later that night, you're sitting on the couch. Hoshina's head is in your lap. You're running your fingers through his hair.

"They really thought you and Mina had a thing?" you ask.

"It's the worst rumor I've ever faced."

"Worse than the time they thought you and Kafka—"

"We don't speak of that."

You laugh. He cracks one eye open.

"You're not jealous?"

"Nope."

"Not even a little?"

"You come home to me every night. You hold my hand in public. You tell everyone I'm your wife." You lean down and kiss his forehead. "Why would I be jealous?"

He grumbles. But his ears are red.

"...Mina says you deserve better."

"I have you. That's already better."

He goes very still. Then he sits up, cups your face, and kisses you properly.

"I love you," he says. "Even if you keep cooking for my captain."

"Your captain who outranks you and can order me around?"

"Don't remind me."

You grin. "I'm making dumplings for her tomorrow. Want to come?"

He sighs. "Fine. But I'm eating most of them."

"Deal."

The next day, the division walks into the break room to find Hoshina, you, and Mina sitting around a table, making dumplings. Hoshina has flour on his nose. You're laughing. Mina is critiquing his folding technique ("Too much filling, Soshiro. Your wife taught you better.").

Kafka stares.

Reno takes a photo.

Kikoru whispers, "I'm so confused."

And Mina looks up, deadpan: "He's still terrible at dumplings. But his wife is wonderful. I'm keeping her."

Hoshina: "SHE'S MY WIFE."

Mina: "Then learn to fold properly."

You: "Can we please just enjoy the dumplings?"

Chaos, thy name is the Third Division.

you come back fully expecting to be met with an interrogation about the very secret bunnies you smuggled in, but instead—

“soshiro, what the hell are you doing.”

your boyfriend is lying on the floor with the bunnies. one is sitting on his chest. another is curled up by his head. he slowly turns to look at you, completely unbothered, as if you didn’t just catch him bonding with the creatures he was definitely supposed to scold you about.

“they like me,” he says simply, scratching behind the ears of the bunny on his chest. “i think they see me as their leader now.”

you blink. “their leader?”

he nods, completely serious. “yeah. look at them. they follow me.”

as if on cue, the bunny by his head twitches its nose and hops just a little closer to him. there’s just no way this is real.

“so you’re just… fine with this?” you ask, raising an eyebrow.

soshiro shrugs, finally sitting up, which makes the bunny on his chest slide onto his lap. “well, yeah. you already brought them in. might as well make sure they’re comfortable.”

you stare at him, waiting for something. a warning? a lecture? an anything?

instead, he picks up one of the bunnies and gently places it in your arms. “besides,” he says, smirking a little, “if anyone finds out, i’ll just say they’re yours. i’d never do something as reckless as bringing bunnies onto base, obviously.”

your jaw drops. “you little—”

but before you can finish, he’s already back on the floor, arms behind his head, letting the bunnies climb all over him.

every time you enter his vision, hoshina soshiro’s chest swells with pride. his head starts bursting with endless compliments and ways to show you off—of course, in ways that keeps you humble. he can’t help it, but it’s like his body simply knows you too well to stop.

with 10’s tail flicking against the back of his legs, hoshina silently watches the machines buzz in their work as they attach numbers 5 to your figure. an iron stands poised above your shoulder with a whiff of smoke billowing off it and when the other cables slither away, it shifts down to begin soldering two parts of your suit together.

hoshina carefully observes you staying still as silver droplets dribble onto the floor, but he's shoved out of his thoughts when 10 prods his head with the tip of its tail.

“oi,” hoshina clicks his tongue at the low tremor of 10’s growl. “don’t poke me.”

“what’s taking her so long?” 10 says roughly. hoshina can feel its impatience course through his body like an ache.

before he can answer, his ears perk up at the screech of grinding metal, and the both of them revert their attention back to you, where you’re now stood inside a pod with your arms raised to your side.

you notice hoshina from the corner of your eyes, so you shoot him a quick thumbs up.

“she’s sharpening her fans,” hoshina says, crossing his arms as he leans against the wall. “it’s 5’s power.”

“fans?” 10 scoffs with a condescending tone, one that makes hoshina frown deeply. “hah! what are fans gonna do? is she gonna make them fly away?"

“well, you’re nothing but a tail,” he retorts, pushing it away. “you wouldn’t last a second against her.”

“hoh, we’ll see about that."

finally, the machines come to a stop and you step out of the pod in full gear, twisting your body to ease the tense muscles from staying upright for so long. you look forward and see hoshina walk his way over to you.

“finished?” he asks.

“yep, all sharp, all ready.”

he stops in his steps and leans back to take a detailed scan of your suit. he finds himself nodding slowly as if he’s approving the way it fits you so well.

“cool, isn’t it?” you look down and back up again. “i like it.”

hoshina’s lips curl upwards. “ya look great.”

from top to bottom, your suit is a shade of dark green he’s never seen before, but the warrior shoulder pads and the flare rippling from your lower back is painted in a rich silver. it somewhat reminds him of weapons 4, the fastest numbers suit that kikoru wears, but yours is thinner, replicating the shape of a long coat.

on your hips, you have two metal war fans that are customised to rip through anything solid and also be thrown the farthest distance. not only that, the defence force made it their mission to personalise these weapons for your skills, upgrading its use to both close combat and long range.

hoshina feels heat rush to his cheeks. there's no one else who's better suited than you.

“vice-captain hoshina.”

the both of you instinctively press your earpiece at the same time.

“here,” you say.

your eyes meet and suddenly, you burst out laughing, waving a hand over your face as you speak into the call again.

“sorry, konomi. is it me or soshiro?”

hoshina chortles too. “yeah, be clearer okonogi-chan! do ya mean me or my wife?”

you hear her sheepish laugh on the end of the line before she clears her throat.

“sorry, sorry! i meant vice-captain (name)!”

hoshina winks at you and lowers his hand from his ear.

“yes, konomi. i’m here,” you say again, playfully nudging him with your elbow. “are we ready to go?”

you mouth a ‘stop it’ to hoshina despite the obvious grin on your lips, but he simply tilts his head innocently as if there’s nothing to blame him for.

there’s furious typing in the background followed by a bunch of clicks until okonogi returns.

“yes, beginning assimilation for weapons 5 and 10!”

“well,” you let your hand slide back down to your side. you look hoshina’s way and shrug. “guess we’re leaving.”

“finally.”

you peer down at hoshina’s chest and smirk at the glow of 10’s eye. it blinks at you before it starts grumbling loud enough that you can see it physically vibrate.

“what’re you looking at, woman?”

“hmm, i’m just wondering who’ll be the best out there,” you tease, elongating your words out as 10’s tail twitches. “i’ve heard a lot about your childishness.”

“hah! what do you know?!” it barks, pointing at you. “you’ve never seen me.”

“i will soon and i'm looking forward to it,” you answer and you catch hoshina shaking his head at you with a sigh.

after around forty minutes of petty squabbling with 10 in the car, you step out into an open street of local shops. the scent of hot food wafts in the air, but there’s no sizzling or the bustling of people along with it.

you feel a hollow whisper float across each store, rattling the bells attached to the doors as they jingle for no one.

“completely wiped out, huh.”

hoshina steps up from your right and takes one long glance across the street, but as soon as he starts to, he stops, narrowing in on one particular store. even 10’s tail reduces its swinging.

“what is it?” you question, following his gaze. “did you see something?”

he begins creeping forward, slipping his mask on. “nah, i didn’t, but 10’s actin’ up.”

"i spotted it first," 10 gloats, chortling under its own breath. "you two are useless."

copying his movements, you’re only a footstep behind him when you hear a sickening crunch coming from inside the shop. it echoes into the lifeless street, triggering the bells to ring again. whatever it is, it must be big enough for everything to react to it.

you spot something black streak across the path and you whip around, eyes darting to every corner you can see. you look up, down and behind hoshina, but all you see are deserted shops.

“soshiro, something's with us,” you say, quietly.

he doesn’t respond, but from the way he focuses on his breathing, you’re sure he’s aware.

activating your mask, your hands curl around your fans as your suit begins emitting a dark glow. you have one knee bent forward and the other behind you, ready to pounce at whatever could emerge from the shadows.

“vice-captain (name)! unleashed combat power rising to 66%!”

you hear hoshina unsheathe his blades over the rumble of 10’s excitement. it mutters something incoherent, but you’re pretty certain it’s boasting about itself like always.

“combat power rising to 68% for vice-captain hoshina also!”

“that means me, love,” hoshina snickers, effortlessly flipping his blades in his palms. with a snap of his wrists, he points them forward, an equal smirk plastered on his face. “don’t get confused now.”

you roll your eyes, mimicking his look. “yeah, yeah.”

suddenly, a stench that reeks of death flushes across the street, purging the aroma of food in seconds. all around you, the bells start clinking for the third time like they're obsessed, jerking about until they snap off its string.

"soshiro," you begin, scrunching your nose as you turn to him, "did you see─"

out of nowhere, a monster, a kaiju drenched in food waste and a sickly amount of grease crashes out of the same store hoshina was targeting. it goes tumbling into the opposite stall, shattering all of its goods into particles whilst letting out a howl that rips through your ears.

you press your nose into the crook of your arm as you watch it stagger back onto its six legs with a groan, and once it does, its frazzled eyes, which are all a different colour and looking at different directions, pops back into place and latches onto you.

you feel a jolt of unease hammer down your spine at how it towers above you and hoshina so easily, its fat head but skinny legs making you feel sick. it gawks at you with eyes about to burst out its sockets and it's not until you realise it's pawing the ground, digging up a mountain of dirt that it's seconds away from charging towards you.

"kaiju detected," okonogi's calls, "fortitude level... 6.5!"

"(name)!" hoshina yells. "move!"

without warning, the kaiju bursts into an awkward run, stabbing its legs into the ground like it can't hold itself up. black oil gushes out its body and scorches the ground like poison, and instantly, the pungent smell engulfs you both once more.

you curse to yourself as it lumbers over, but before it touches you, you and hoshina jump out of the way, deftly hopping from building to building to avoid its acid.

it won't be long until it has all your movements memorised. since it's such a cramped street with hardly any spaces to hide, you feel your frustration bubble inside of you as you wrack through your brain to figure out how to take this down.

you land on broken scaffolding, but before you know it, one of the kaiju's legs is hurtling towards you at breakneck speed.

from below, hoshina screams your name.

but it comes swinging, punching you through the building with an impact as heavy as a cannon. its sharp leg follows the blur of your body piercing into a brick wall and soon, you disappear into the darkness of it.

"(NAME)!"

with ragged breaths, hoshina jabs his earpiece and yells into the call. "okonogi-chan! vitals!"

there's rapid fumbling on the other line, but she answers as quickly as she can.

"vitals! vitals for vice-captain (name)," she begins as hoshina's heart threatens to jump out his chest, but he grits his teeth when okonogi's voice diminishes into a small gasp.

"what? what is it?! quickly!"

she stutters, the line crackling a little. "she's... she's fine? nothing critical, no damage taken at all!"

"what?!"

hoshina hears violent typing as okonogi's hands fly across the keypad. with round eyes, he desperately looks back up at the gaping hole where the kaiju had thrown you into.

"no way... vice-captain (name)'s combat power is rising to 75%!"

numbers 10 purrs at the news, raising its tail so it stands above hoshina's head. "i suppose she's not that bad at all."

a missile of green and silver soars over him and before he can figure out what it is, the kaiju blasts out of the spot where you had been, chunks of debris showering down onto the street. hoshina leaps away, but his breath hitches in his throat when he notices that its missing all of its legs.

it shrieks as it rams into the sharp edges of a collapsed building before it tries scrambling back up, but without its legs, it's only a giant blob of black grease heaving up and down.

taking his chance, hoshina's blades gleam a purple hue, his suit also assimilating the surge of power, but just as he's about to dart forward and carve it to pieces, the air slices apart in front of him. it releases a thunderous snap and before he knows it, the kaiju is screeching in more agony.

he grinds his heels into the ground as he stares in disbelief at the blue blood pouring out its sides.

"oi, hoshina," 10 snarls, thrusting its tail in the kaiju's direction. it pauses as if it's determining the type of attack it had witnessed. "what the hell's happening?!"

"ugh, i don't..." hoshina trails off, but he's interrupted by a flash of another green and suddenly, you land in front of him, your suit exuding a vicious spark of white. your flare ripples behind you like a cape and he watches you extend your hand to your left before the war fan that had stopped him in his tracks flies back into your hand.

"that hurt," is all you say, your eyes drilling into the kaiju. it lets out a piercing scream as you coil your arms back to deliver a blow.

"vice-captain (name)'s combat power rising to... 78%?!"

hoshina and 10 stay deathly quiet as they watch you pummel the kaiju into pieces, your fans splitting the air with ease. you practically dance around it, vaulting into the air with perfect somersaults before you dive back into your merciless slashes, until nothing but fragments of its core are rolling around the ground.

"hoshina."

10 hisses as its eye copies your movements. it shines brightly and a massive smirk emerges. "tell me we're fighting her next."

"oh, hell no," hoshina replies as you flick your fans and shift them onto your back. "we're doin' no such thing."

and you simply walk back, shrugging the remains of kaiju bits off your shoulders like it's another regular day in your schedule. the glow in your suit dims as you approach them, but it doesn't erase the aura of victory beaming off you.

hoshina sighs at the trickle of blood down the side of your head, but upon seeing the smile on your face that he thinks is as gorgeous as ever, his worry dissolves into the back of his mind.

"my, my, hoshina-san, how did ya do all that?" he whistles, sheathing his blades. he puts a hand on his hip and gestures to the fallen kaiju. "ya made me sit on the sidelines and do nothin'."

"well, hoshina-san," you copy, "i just moved faster, that's all." you turn your attention to 10. "how'd i do?"

"fight me next!" it roars, flapping its tail up and down like its cheering. "fight me! now! let's do it!"

"no, i said we're doin' nothin' like that," hoshina grumbles, glaring at 10's eye. "behave."

"soshiro, it'll be fine," you say, confidence oozing from your tone as you jerk your chin up at 10. "i mean, that kaiju was just a warmup for this anyway."

"haha!" 10 screeches with laughter, which makes hoshina wince. "how fun, how exhilarating! now! fight me now!"

hoshina slaps a palm to his face with an inaudible whine. "will the two of ya stop? let's go home and report the mission."

and even if you didn't battle it out with 10, your snarky remarks and its taunts that you're nothing without your suit flitters back and forth like ping-pong balls all throughout the journey back to base. hoshina's forced to sit in between you with his arms folded and head bowed, you on his left and his tail... pinned down on his right.

a stressed sigh escapes his mouth. now that 10 knows what you're capable of, he's afraid that it's not going to shut up about you anytime soon.
