Geek-Chic Apparel
Technology gets whimsical when designers integrate gadgets into clothing and fashion accessories.
Beauty and the Geek Jeans
Erik De Nijs and Tim Smit from the Dutch company Nieuwe Heren designed a pair of jeans that feature a keyboard, wireless mouse, and speakers. The keyboard is splayed across the top of the jeans, enabling typing in the sitting position. The mouse fits into the right back pocket and is attached to the pants with an elastic band. The speakers are located at the knees. The orange stitching of the back pockets resembles circuit boards. The belt is a USB device that connects the jeans to laptops and computers. While these jeans are in the conceptual stage, try our foldable USB keyboard with an ergonomic USB optical mouse or rollable self-illuminating keyboard with a wireless touch scroll mouse.
Padx-1 Ledge Wearcom Pullover
Alphyn Industries created a waterproof sweater that can store and carry an iPad. The opened ledge pocket has two strips that harness the tablet, allowing the user to view and manage the device. When zipped up, the padded pocket protects the iPad from light bumps. If you’re not too sure about playing kangaroo to your iPad, try some of our padded iPad sleeves.
Soma-1 Wearcom Pullover
Another product from Alphyn Industries lets users carry and view their smartphones on their jacket’s left forearm. The clear film over the phone protects the screen while enabling a clear view of the contents. The cables for earphones and mic are inserted along the sleeve, leading to the collar where earphones can be stored. If you’d like to wear your smartphone with more than one jacket, try ourassorted armbands.
HoodieBuddie
HB3 technology allows music to travel from the MP3 player or smartphone, which plugs into the standard headphone jack in the front pocket, to the earphones installed in the drawstrings of the hoodie. Both the hoodie and earphones is machine washable. If you’d prefer to keep your music devices away from the washer, try our MP3 headsets and earphones.
Andrea Crews Remake Jacket
This black and white suit comes from the unorthodox design company, Julien David Co, Ltd. The 900 recycled computer keys are eye-catching, while the underlying woolen fabric makes it comfortable to wear. If you need a little more function than fashion, try our keyboards in black and white.
SNESBuckle
The Super Nintendo controller buckle is combined with a leather belt so gamers can tap into retro fashion. Since this buckle only works as a pants accessory, try our functioning modern controllers for game consoles to add more notches on your gaming victory belt.
Haute Couture 2.0
This evening gown designed by Melissa Turgeon includes six computer mice, 120 cables, and half a computer keyboard. If you’d rather have cables running between your devices instead of strewn over a dress, try our audio video and HDMI cables.
Keybag
Joao Sabino used 393 keys to create this geeky-chic tote. The bag is available in white, black, pink, and red. If you’d like to spruce up your keyboard without carrying it around on your arm, try ourkeyboard skin shields available in blue, red, purple, orange, and pink.
