Granpa still packs a punch
Grandpa gets an update too
Outlander season 2 finale
it’s almost 3 in the fucking morning and I stayed up to watch this
I feel like I can’t adequately put into words, but I’ll try
I didn’t expect to see Gaelus (aka Gillian) in the present day, but it made for a good twist. nor did I expect her to have researched and figured out time travel in her plan to travel back. it wasn’t an accident like it was with Claire
Claire being a successful surgeon is awesome. and her daughter is just as smart and capable, and stubborn and beautiful as both her parents
and ultimately, seeing Gaelus disappear through the stones is probably the only thing that would’ve made Brianna believe her mom; and it worked
seeing Claire at the Clan Mackenzie grave marker and tell Jamie all about her life since she’s been back was very emotional
Claire finally telling her daughter the truth definitely brought up painful emotions but good came out of it because now Brianna believes
in other news, it seems Dougal probably wouldn’t have believed them at that point if they had tried to tell him the truth. but damn, it still escalated quickly into his death, which was very shocking and heartbreaking
Murtagh though, who in the aftermath is in a much more understanding place, is just like “okay what do you need me to do”. and thank goodness for that
Murtagh refusing to leave so he can stay and fight by Jamie’s side.
Jamie and Claire telling Fergus how much they care about him and how he is basically their own, was sweet, but sad because Jamie and Claire believed they would die or that they wouldn’t see him again.
I’m happy Fergus knows for sure how much they love him
god, Jamie and Claire’s last goodbyes just slayed me. so many last kisses, so much love shared between them.
so hard to say goodbye
but in 1968, Claire discovers that Jamie didn’t die at Culloden, and that she can go back
will she consider bringing Brianna with her???? or not, I don’t know. Obviously we would all want father and daughter to be reunited.
Jamie knowing Claire was pregnant just shows how much he pays attention to his wife. and Claire was right in telling Brianna that Jamie already loved his child, even if he never knew her
a few other questions:
when did Frank die?
what else besides death makes time travel possible?
that’s all for now.
so much amazing and emotions, loved it even through the pain.
peace out.
