"i'm a nurse." she spoke confidently, wry smile curling at the corner of her lips as she proceeded to add, "i stopped listening to doctors a long time ago."

❝ Better to be metaphorical than literal. ❞ he replies as he glances to John just above the rim of his glasses. ❝ And you are opting for the literal.❞
He speaks to the punch that he received from the father of the boy he was treating. He knows his heart was in the right place, the kid has every right to know that he's dying so Charles won't attempt to take some moral high ground let alone give a lecture.
❝ I would have done the same thing.❞ he reassures. ❝ You're going to fit in here just fine.❞

@gaffns asked: “borrowed bundle” john to ripley
Send “borrowed bundle” for a starter where my muse is holding a baby that does not belong to them. Send “borrowed baby” for your muse to be the one holding a baby that doesn’t belong to them. | accepting
Ripley looks up from the baby he is holding and over at John. "John." He says, nodding his head at the other doctor. Ripley is standing outside of the trauma room as Hannah and the other doctors work on the baby's mom. He walks closer to Frost and smiles a bit as the baby yawns and fusses a bit.
ekim was looking over a chart, having been temporarily assigned to the emergency department to help with a child that was admitted while @gaffns was off. she works in the pediatric wing and the ed needed an additional hand while they were going through a wave of emergencies. brown eyes look up to see the former child star walk up to the desk. ❝ maggie told me to hand this kid off to you when you got in dr frost. four year old with pnuemonia. just gave a round of antibiotics and wrote down on his chart to check in to make sure there's no allergic reaction. foster parents brought him in because he was having problems breathing. ❞

" doctor, doctor … gimmie the news. " cheesy greeting ( half-spoken / half-sung ) was delivered with an equally cheesy grin; bright & just a hint mischievous. the same one that never fails to persuade the hospital porter to give him an extra jello pot. denny duquette had a natural way with people. bad heart had taken a lot from him, but it would never take that and that was something, he supposed. a glimmer of hope to hold onto when all else failed. smile didn’t linger long, however. tired eyes were observant enough to recognise those all - too - familiar tell tale signs of bad news. no matter how many hospitals he went to, or how many different specialists he spoke to, every doctor wore that same damn face when they came to tell a patient something they didn’t want to. it was impossible to disguise when talking to such a frequent flyer. deep breath was drawn in, allowing a moment to prepare himself, before finally nodding in silent reassurance. it’s alright, doc, it says, i’m used to this part. " i didn’t get the heart, huh? "

"do you ever think about a change of scenery?" question came unprompted, cutting through the comfortable silence that she and patrick often found themselves in. that came with the territory at times, and was a testament to how well they got along. "this isn't me telling you i'm resigning, before you jump to that conclusion." she added as a caveat, although kept to herself that perhaps it was something that she was keeping under consideration. circumstances meant that her job was becoming far more political than she would have liked, and perhaps a fresh start might give her a chance to step away from it. "
dr ari cohen looks at the chart maggie hands him, seeing john's name as the primary asking for a consult from internal medicine. he walks across the emergency department to the trauma room on the file before knocking on the doorway. ❝ dr frost? you asked for a consult or second opinion on a case? what seems to be your diagnosis? ❞ @gaffns

Lucy Chen to Frost
For a cop, Chen's gaze is remarkably soft as it hones in upon the doctor. She KNOWS the situation is incredibly volatile. That he's being targeted by someone which is why she was assigned to go undercover to protect him. "Nothing's going to happen to you. I won't let it." Sure. Chen could almost imagine Bradford berating her for making such an assurance. "So what is it these guys want from you anyways?" She deigns to inquire.

being a child actor was hard. you were under microscopes that even adult actors didn't have. which is why he left and it was the best thing he ever did for him and his mental health. it just took one influencer on tik tok to post something and now it was a widely known that jonathan micheal frost from the tv show nick of time was a doctor. he sighed at lucy's question, not really sure what this stalker wanted. ❛ i don't know. money? money that I don't even have? i haven't done any professional acting since I was a teenager. I was sort of hoping that nobody would remember me. ❜

Chen swallows down hard, grimacing at his revelation. A delicate hand finds it's way to his shoulder in a gesture of sincere empathy. "I- I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how difficult this is for you." Chen meant it. Harassment of any kind sucked, but having your business on full display for the internet, that's incredibly awful. Compiling it all with not having what the harassers were after, just, it made her heart sick.
"Is there anyone out there who might have given others a reason to think you were living the high life? Running through your money like it's going out of style?" She asks quietly. "Former co-workers? Agents?" She offers up several ideas.
She remembers, long before her time, a singer named Selena was murdered by the head of her fan club. "I mean, do you have a fan club?" Chen asks. It was always a possibility that someone would be unhinged enough to come after him. "If you do, was anyone exhibiting any kind of unhinged behaviors? Repeat letters to your house with declarations of love, repeated demands to be paid off for something?"
