Welcome to Nos Mutamur In Illis, our 2026 anniversary event! All participating muses have been invited to the Herald of Spring Festival on Oleander Isle, an island that produces much of Garreg Mach's exotic fruit imports. However, when you arrive, you discover that the island is much worse off than you expected, with its fields and orchards all but completely dead. Nevertheless, the mayor seems intent on pulling off this festival, which doubles as his daughter's 16th birthday party, despite the town's struggles. Please continue reading below for information and rules.
Muses who are not participating in the event will be left behind in Garreg Mach. The Herald mission board will be extended through the end of this month, but no new missions will be added. If you are not participating in the event, use this month to catch up on past threads or thread together about your classmates and colleagues who have left for the event.
Nos Mutamur In Illis General Rules
Signups are closed and will not be reopened.
All players must join the server for the duration of the event. They may leave as soon as the event concludes.
You may only start Nos Mutamur In Illis threads between August 1st and August 31st. Event threads may be continued after the event, but no new ones may be started. Likewise, only IC posts made between 8/1 and 8/31 will count toward prizes.
Your muses have already arrived on Oleander Isle, so there will be no pre-departure interval for interactions. You may still write them if you wish, but pre-departure interactions will not count towards event participation.
We encourage creativity and exploration. Answers will reveal themselves as the narrative progresses, so ask questions, think outside the box, try new things, and consider what your character would do in these situations.
Your muses may be KO'd but will not "die."
Please tag all event-related IC posts with #TOANMI2026.
Starting locations have been revealed in the introductory post but AP can be spent to move to adjacent districts (any district whose border touches the border of the district you are currently in). Each player will have 5 AP to spend every week. This will coincide with one single day in Baile.
Each district has several points of interest and activities associated with them. You must spend AP to engage in GM activities, and cost will vary depending on how involved something will be.
Each event "day" will be separated into Day and Night, with different activities taking place during different periods. Some activities will restrict a player from engaging in other activities in the same day period, so spend your AP wisely.
Asks and paralogue threads (threads that are not attached to any GM-led activity) do not cost AP.
Moving to an adjacent district costs 1 AP.
You do not have to spend all of your AP but unspent AP will not roll over to the next week.
DISTRICTS AND INTERACTIONS
Players will only be allowed to interact with other players who are currently in the districts that they land in. The mods will keep an updated document with the map and current locations of all players, as well as movements made during the week, so that players can tell who they can write threads with.
Players must share information IC, not OOC, in order for another player character to act on that information.
A channel associated with each district will be set up in the discord server, and players will only be able to access the districts that they are in or have moved to in order to limit confusion.
Most GM activities are not expected to last very long on the OOC side, so emphasis is placed on players turning the results of their AP into full-fledged threads with each other.
NPCs are available to thread with depending on each GM's availability. At minimum, chatplays will be conducted in the discord server for dialogue exchanges.
Points of interest and their activities may be simple item discovery, worldbuilding information, GM-led investigations, or fully gamefied events and automated tasks.
All activities that cost AP will have an impact on the narrative. Your character's choices matter. Don't fret over whether you're getting more or less information from your GM than someone else.
Whatever district you end in for one week, you will start in for the next week.
The mysterious voice left you a present. Each of you has received a secret skill tree to help you around Baile. Level 1 will be DM'd to you soon, and you may not share this with anyone else OOC. IC interactions where your characters explain your abilities are fine.
Every player who starts in the same district receives the same skill tree.
There are 3 skills in your skill tree, but the last 2 must be unlocked. You will need to write a total of 1400 words during the event and use your level 1 skill once in order to unlock level 2, and write a total of 2800 words and use your level 2 skill once in order to unlock level 3. DM the mod who sent you your level 1 skill when you've reached the requirements.
Skills can be used to assist other players as well, but information must be traded IC.
You also have an item that you received from the signup quiz. This can be used once in whatever way you see fit. Be creative.
Nos Mutamur In Illis Schedule

Prizes and How to Get Them
Two sets of prizes will be awarded for Nos Mutamur In Illis.
All muses entering the event automatically receive one of these prizes upon joining. You may message the masterlist as soon as you have made your first event post.
Canon Lord characters: You are granted access to your exclusive promotional class. This class will have mastery requirements of a Master Tier class and will also require rank A in Authority and a drabble. Please message the masterlist to claim it. To see muses that qualify and their corresponding prizes, please refer to the fourth page of this sheet. You will also be granted your Personal Skill. Please refer to the section below.
Characters who have not claimed a Personal Skill: You will be allowed to claim your Personal Skill. Please refer to this sheet for examples and guidance on crafting one for yourself. Characters who already have personal skills in their respective games will receive their canon skill, so you do not need to design one. If you need help designing your skill, please ask for advice in the personal skill workshop channel in the Discord server. All personal skills must be submitted to the masterlist’s inbox for approval by the end of the event. If you do not submit your personal skill by the time grand prize claims end, you will not get your personal skill.
All others: If your character participated in past lore events and has already received all participation prizes that they are eligible for, you may claim an additional ability that you qualify for from the ranking chart.
If you prefer to hold off on choosing your participation prizes (i.e. waiting on skill points, etc.), you may do so until the grand prize claim period after the event.
This will be awarded at the end of the event to any muse who reaches a minimum of 12 IC event posts. Contains:
Two choices from an event-limited selection of prizes
And a third prize — unknown for now
And as always, feel free to message the masterlist or use the Discord if you have any questions.
