Are gainer shakes worth it?
Depends on what you mean by "worth it". It also probably depends on the shake. I've seen anecdotal evidence from feedees saying that too much boost vhc (common shake ingredient) can lead to high levels of vitamins and even heavy metal poisoning. They're supposed to be meal supplements, and having 5-6 a day could be harmful. There's a lot of different gainer recipes out there. Cake shakes might contain uncooked flour or include raw eggs. Even without those, they have high amounts of baking soda which we don't usually consume raw. That can lead to bloating (which could be a positive result) and even headaches. I've seen other recipes that involve pudding as the main ingredient, or heavy cream.
If you're new to gainer shakes, search for different recipes, and do some research (not ai research) on what those ingredients might do in large quantities. What might be good for one feedee isn't necessarily okay for another. Start small, see what you tolerate, scale it from there. Listen to your body and your cravings. Make sure you're getting all your micronutrients, not just massive amounts of carbs and calories.
At the end of the day, your health is your own, and as long as you're making informed decisions about your body, you can put whatever you want into it to make yourself happy. If that makes it worth it to you, then yeah, they're worth it!
