Sherry Blendy pulled up the zipper of her jacket and reached for her gloves before she stepped out of her hut and into the snow. Winter had reached Camp Halfblood and the teenagers who were only there in the summer months had left, leaving the camp in a tranquil state – or so it seemed because behind the scenes, the yearlong prank war between the Hermes and the Apollo cabins had flared up again and since there was little else to do, some of the other cabins had become allies with one of the warring huts. She had rolled her eyes at this but then, no one had asked the Aphrodite cabin if they wanted to participate and neither had the Ares cabin joined the fray so far – which had pleased Sherry as she knew that the moment Ares would go to war, her siblings would follow suit.
(And she really did not want to be allied with the cabin of born warriors, not after the last times they had worked together and half the camp had gone up in flames when things had gotten a bit too intense.)
But this did not matter now; she had a meeting to attend and a part of her hoped that she would be picked for a quest because her boredom had not been soothed lately.
One of the other camp kids waved at her as she passed and she nodded before she stepped into the building where the meeting would be held. The counsellor, Chiron, had mentioned that there would be a new influx of quests soon and so she was excited, especially since she had not been cabin eldest for a long time. Her predecessor had left only mere months earlier, making her the newbie among the eldest although she had been the replacement for a while beforehand.
Greeting the eldest who had already arrived, she slumped down on the next chair and crossed her legs as she removed her gloves and waited to hear the prophecy they had been called to hear, making a point out of not looking to where the eldest of the Ares cabin was lounging.
Drinks and snacks were passed around and she was just biting into a chocolate bar – the one sweet she and all of her half-siblings loved – when Chiron cleared his throat to recite the prophecy that had been made the previous night.

Sherry coughed as she nearly choked on her chocolate.
Out of all of Aphrodite’s children, she was best suited for a quest in this season because she was a fighter but she was not sure if it was wise for her to depart on a quest with the sole child of Ares that was currently in the camp because, after all, Gajeel Redfox was her step-brother and things had been complicated between them lately.
