(So I found this idea and I’ve decided to do it for all the couples. Starting with the best tho)
Ever since Levy could remember, she wore her half necklace. And never once had it felt warm against her skin. Every day she would run her fingers over the oddly shaped upside down L and hope that it would become warm. Part of her was sure that it was broken. The other part just hoped that her soul mate was really special.
The one time she would have never expected to feel the heat from the necklace was during the Phantom Lord attack on Fairy Tail. The necklace lit up hotter than anything should could ever remember. After that the necklace stayed a warm heat as though her soul mate was right around the corner.
The girl had hoped it would be the dragon slayer she was falling in love with but he never mentioned it to her. Also she had never even seen a necklace around his neck. Maybe Gajeel already found his mate and something happened.
Part of him was curious as to whether him and the shrimp were soul mates but he kept himself from seeing. No necklace was gonna tell him who he was destined to be with. Especially since he didn’t deserve a good girl like Levy. No. He had caused her pain. He didn’t even deserve to be happy.
Of course the temptation was still there to look. He just wanted to to see the shape of Levy’s necklace. By now Gajeel’s necklace was lost. He had thrown it into his mess of objects while he was at Phantom Lord. No one was permitted to wear their necklaces because there was no room for love in any of their hearts. Sure the guys had their sex. And those were great nights. But it wasn’t love. Just something to get the urge over for the day.
•••••••••••
Gajeel looked up as Lily and him were ransacking through the drawers in his home. “Come on Lil. I know it’s here somewhere.” He growled. It had been a long night and all that he wanted to find whatever the shrimp had left the last time she was over.
“This would be much simpler if you allowed Levy to tell us what she’s looking for.” Lily said as he continued to throw things into a pile on the floor. Counter to what most thought, Gajeel’s room was usually clean. Part of it was because he rarely stayed in it. But the other part was that he likes a little method in his chaos.
“I would be fine with her telling us.” The dragon slayer muttered as he lifted a pack of papers to look beneath it. “She’s the one that doesn’t wanna talk about what it is.” He said with a soft huff of annoyance.
The exceed smirked a little to himself. His own necklace hung around his neck. It had been completed since before Gajeel and he had met. He just didn’t like to talk about it. Much in the same way that Gajeel didn’t like to talk about why he didn’t wear his necklace. The two males had that respect for one another. Despite that, Lily knew why Gajeel was upset. He didn’t want Levy in their home because he enjoyed having her close and vice versa.
Levy had told Lily once, in confidence that he would never tell anyone else, that she thought Gajeel was her soulmate. Her necklace always heated up when he was around and felt cooler when she left his side.
Despite Lily’s words of wisdom, Levy refused to tell Gajeel of this. She assumed that Gajeel had already found his soul mate and just wanted to be nice. But if that was true why did her half of the necklace heat up.
Lily was bound to secrecy by Gajeel never to tell anyone about him not where his necklace, or even knowing where it was. So Levy was left in the dark, thinking that her mate really belonged to someone else.
••••••••••
Gajeel suddenly stood up straight from ransacking around. “Shrimps here.” He said with a soft growl before going back to what he was doing. “Get the door Lil.”
PantherLily sighed and spread his wings before heading to the door. Pulling it open he looked up to see the blue headed solid script Mage looking down at the exceed with a nervous smile. “He isn’t looking is he?” She asked biting her lip nervously. When Lily nodded the girl let out a soft sigh.
“Gajeel. Gajeel don’t worry about it I found it.” She called stepping past the exceed and into the house.
Gajeel scrambled to get up and get to the doorway before Levy but it was too late. The Mage was standing in the doorway with wide eyes. Tears started to slip down her face and Lily moved to comfort her. “I. I didn’t mean for you to make a mess over me.” She sobbed softly.
“Shrimp.” Gajeel called stepping over some the pile and in front of her. “This is nothing.” He said simply lifting her chin to look at him. “I can clean this up in a few hours.”
On her chest, the necklace started to burn her skin slightly but she ignored it. It wasn’t true. The girl nodded slowly. “Then I’m going to help you.”
•••••••••
Gajeel sighed softly to himself as he sat on the bed and watched the small blue haired mage run around his room. After half an hour of arguing with her, Gajeel had given up. Letting her take responsibility for his room being messy.
The male leaned back against his hand as he watched her clean the house with ease.
“Damn. She always need to clean the house.” Gajeel chuckled softly to himself. That laugh caught in his throat as Levy opened one of the drawers in his bedside cabinet. No. No. No. That had things in there he didn’t want her to see. Pictures and letters. Personal things.
“Levy please don’t……” His voice trailed off as the girl pulled a long black cord from the drawer. He knew that cord. He swore never to wear it and now she had found it. The dragon slayer looked down at his hands.
“G…..Gajeel is this you…..?” Levy whispered softly as she cradled the necklace in her hands despite the burning feeling it caused.
“Yeah.” Gajeel muttered softly as he stood up and began walking to her side.
“Baka.” The girl shouted suddenly throwing the necklace with such a force that Gajeel thought she had broken it. “Here I have been thinking that you are already mated and you just haven’t been wearing it.” She yelled and Gajeel could see the tears streaming down her face.
“I didn’t even know it was there Lev.” He said flinching softly at the girls tears. Seeing her cry was something that Gajeel most certainly didn’t enjoy.
“I….” He tried to start before seeing the girl pull her necklace from her neck and throw it to the floor.
The two necklaces met and melded into what could easily be noticed as an iron nail.
“You had that this whole time. And just. You didn’t wanna be with me.” The girl sobbed picking it up and shoving it into his chest. “Well there you go. Lock it away like it doesn’t matter. Just like me.” She continued.
Gajeel was panicked. Without hesitation he leaned forward and captured her lips in his. The girls hands that were hitting against his chest went still. Slowly wrapping around his neck and melting into the kiss.
“It ain’t that I don’t want ya.” He said after pulling away. His Crimson eyes staring seriously into her brown ones. “I just don’t deserve a soul mate as good as ya.” He continued.
The girl slapped his chest roughly as she held the necklace between them. Her hand opening slightly so they both could see it.
“If this necklace can change with an addition, so can you.” Levy smiled looking up at him.
“And I’ll be your plus one.”
(Wow. Longest one shot I’ve ever written. It’s around 1330 words! Pretty proud of this one honestly. Can’t wait for the next one.)
"Gajeel." There was a long pause of silence. "Gajeel." The woman called again as she stepped forward into the living room, setting her bag down on the couch as she continued her march to her son Gale room. "Gale." She asked looking into the room to see an empty bed. It was nine at night, an hour past Gale's bed time. While it was not unusual for Gajeel to let their son stay up late, normally the two of them were laying in bed talking to one another. Levy loved watching the two of them sit and talk to one another. Often, the older male would sit and stroke the six year olds light blue hair and tell him about the dragon slayers father Metallicana. This time darkness greeted the woman and most likely a very cold bed. A small laugh graced the woman's ears and she quickly turned her head toward where the sound came from. "Gajeel Redfox." She yelled angrily marching through the kitchen and toward the door that led to the back yard. A loud 'shush' was whispered, which caused another laugh to ring out. "Oi. Shut the hell up boy." Gajeel barked angrily. "Gajeel!" Levy gasped opening the sliding door and staring at her husband and son who both currently hung upside down from their knees on Gajeels pull-up bar that doubled as a toy for Gale. "What are you two doing?" She asked in surprise. The blue haired boy smiled happily looking at his mother upside down. "Mommy." He giggled holding his skinny arms out. "Daddy's teaching me to do sit ups like he does." Beside the boy, Gajeel quickly scrambled to the ground. His black hair falling loosely around his face. "Levy." He spoke wearily. "I can explain." The short woman's arms crossed over her chest, her brown eyes watching her husband carefully as he lifted their son from his hanging place. As soon as his legs touched the ground, Gale shot forward to latch on to his mothers leg. "Did you see me? Did you see me?" He chanted excitedly. All the while Levy's eyes stayed locked on her husbands. After not receiving a response from his mother, the boy pouted and grabbed his father hand for him to pull him up. "Gale." Gajeel suddenly spoke. His eyes broke contact with his wife's for a moment to look down at the boy holding his hand. "Go get dressed for bed. I'll come tuck you in in a minute." The boy pouted, crossing his arms. His face looking much like his mothers for a moment. A few moments passed and Gajeel shot a glare down toward his son. "You have ten seconds." Seeing his fathers glare, Gale quickly scrambled past his mother and into the house. "I can explain." Gajeel said slowly. A hand was quickly lifted, effectively shutting the male up. "How long have you been letting him train with you?" The woman glared daggers up at her husband. Gajeel opened his mouth and quickly shut it again. "Gajeel how long have you.....?" "Six months okay?" The dragon slayer cut off. His red eyes staring down at the woman before him. Levy glared at him with a frown. Her arms still crossed over her chest. "Fine." She finally muttered. The male opened his mouth to give an excuse before stopping. "Wait what?" He asked. "Fine." She said staring at him. "It's obvious that you and him both enjoy doing it together." Gajeel nodded moving to wrap an arm around her shoulders. "But." She snapped suddenly shooting a glare at him. "No more late night training sessions. Make time before bed." The dragon slayer chuckled wrapping his arm around his wife and walking toward the house. "Alright. No more late nights for him. Just for you and me." He teased causing the woman to blush softly and slap his chest. "Gihi." The male snickered happily.
Guys think about this, A Gajevy Fanfiction in the avatar universe. Like with the blue people? IMAGINE LEVY AS A NAVI AND SHES KINDA SHORTER THAN THE REST OF HER PEOPLE AND EVEN Gajeel. THE SOLDIER WHO WAS SENT THERE IS HER HEIGHT. LIKE DUDE YES.
••••••••••••••••••••••• Modern Post Nuclear War Au Main ship: Gajevy Minor ships: Jerza/Nalu ••••••••••••••••••••• It had been a long war. One that few people had managed to make it through with everything still together. The country was scattered into small groups. Each group scrounging for food and defending themselves the best that they can. Out in the desert was where the few who lived through some of the worst parts of the war lived. They were the people who had withstood the nuclear blast. Their skin was burned or frayed. If it wasn't, the person themselves let off radiation that could kill anyone around them. Those few people who had that were sent off alone. Most died away from everything, their path obvious around them due to everything dying. A large black mess of hair walked through the desert, a long black jacket wrapped around the males waist as he walked around. Beneath his jacket hung a canteen that was almost empty. It had been filled yesterday but the heat of today had forced the male to drink too much. He couldn't ration any long and need to stop for water soon. The sun beating down on his bare back was killing him, but if he stopped he knew that death would come. Around him, a lizard scrambled from his place in the rocks and pounced on something. Dragging it away to feast on its meal. The males stomach growled in response reminding him that he himself hadn't eaten in a few days. Ignoring all that, the male kept walking. He had been told that there was a place with strong people. People who were capable of withstanding the radiation that people like him gave off and helping him. At least for a little while. The dark haired male had held onto that hope for the last 200 miles and he would hold onto it until he made it the rest of the way. Because of the way his feet dragged slightly against the ground, his black combat boot were slowly wearing down and his feet growing sore. Suddenly his eyes caught sight of a blue scarf stuck to a cactus. The entire thing covered in sand, probably from the last storm. As he moved toward it, his foot caught a stone and he fell hard onto the sand. A soft groan escaped the males lips. He flipped to his back and looked up at the sun beating down on him. He couldn't get up. He felt to weak. The males eyes slowly shut. He was ready for it this time. Death had finally caught up to him and he was gonna let him take him. A soft kick hit the males shoulder and he grunted softly. Opening his eyes, all he could see was the sun. "Am I dead yet?" He grumbled before his eyes adjusted and he noticed a tall blue haired woman standing above him and he quickly shut his eyes. "Yep. I'm dead." "Gajeel-Kun?" The voice questioned and the male placed a hand out as he looked up at the woman above him. "Don't. Don't come near me Juvia. I ain't Gajeel no more." A look of confusion crossed the woman's face and she leaned down to gently place a hand on the males shoulder. Gajeel growled threateningly and the woman took a small step backwards. "I told ya woman. Gajeel ain't alive anymore. He died when that bomb went off." The male grumbled, slowly sitting up and running a hand through his long black hair. "But we can help you." Juvia chirped softly. Her hands clasped behind her back in silence. "Nobody can help me anymore." The male shook his head in sorrow before pulling a knee up and standing to his full height. "Now get before you get sick." Behind her a car door opened and a small woman stepped from the vehicle. She wore a short orange dress and her soft baby blue hair framed her gentle features. Despite her height, she wore a look that commanded respect. "Listen here shorty. If you think that a little thing like you is gonna...." The male started before the small woman grabbed ahold of his wrist and he suddenly felt weak. Crumbling to his knees, the woman smirked softly looking down into the males Crimson eyes with her hazel one. "You aren't gonna hurt any of us. Especially with Juvia and me here." She said with a smile that seemed more genuine than threatening. "Now." She continued leaning toward the males face and whispering softly. "Sleep." The males mouth opened to retort when his body started to feel heavy. He hadn't truly felt the need for sleep in weeks, he had assumed it was the radiation. Now as Gajeel's red eyes glazed over and fell into sleep, he realized how truly tired he was. As soon as the males eyes shut and he slumped forward against the ground, the short woman let go of his wrist and sighed softly to herself. "I'm glad we found him so weak. If he was stronger the radiation would be unbearable." She said before looking at Juvia with a small smile. "I guess you were right about your friend Juvia." The taller woman nodded her head with a grin. "I knew that if I could survive, Gajeel-kun would. He's the strongest man I've ever known." Together the woman pulled the taller male onto their shoulder and lugged him to the car, pushing him into the backseat. "Now to get him home." Juvia laughed softly to which Levy joined. ••••••••••••••••••••• "His pulse seems normal." A soft voice mumbled softly and Gajeel felt a small and soft hand press to his forehead. "It's almost as if he's absorbed most of the radiation into himself." Gajeel lifted his hand and pushed the hand away from him. "I have." He muttered softly. "But it still comes in waves." "Oh good you're awake." A voice called from beside. Gajeel didn't have to open to eyes to know that the woman who spoke was the woman who had drained him before. "You better stay away from me shorty." He muttered softly. "Scared Gajeel?" Came the reply. Gajeel could hear the smirk in her voice which annoyed him slightly. He wasn't scared of anything. Especially not a short woman like her. "Definitely not." He snickered softly. "It's odd a slayer like him doesn't radiate the same as the others do." Gajeel opened his eyes to see a short girl with dark blue hair and pigtails. "Cuz I absorbed it all." The male grunted using his elbow to push himself up. "So you did do what Natsu did." Levy added from beside her as she looked at Wendy. "What did you do before the bombs? Do you remember?" She asked placing a gentle hand on the males shoulder. At just the touch of her hand, he felt his mind starting to cloud. "Fuck. I can't think straight when ya do that." He muttered pushing the hand from off of his shoulder. "And I was a metal worker. Worked in the steal mills." "So your powers?" Juvia asked looking over at her friend from behind the shorter woman. "Not really sure. Only used em once and I don't really wanna use em again." He grunted shifting to push himself off the gurney that he was laying on. "Not that I'm not helpful for your help Juvia but I'm gonna get out of here." "You can't leave." Levy frowned stepping in front of the male who towered over her short head. "We need answers and you need help." "Shorty. I don't need help from anybody." He spoke looking down at her with his Crimson colored eyes. "You could have left me to die for all I care." The short blue haired woman pursed her lips, looking up at the males crimson eyes with a frown. "Listen. You can't live alone your whole life and you can't last out there." "I can....." He started before Juvia's hand touched his shoulder and he felt the radiation from her own skin. "Someones after Wendy." The woman said with a small frown. The males red eyes flashed brighter as he repeated her words. His mouth going dry as he thought about it. His cousin Wendy was being threatened. He had left her in Juvia's charge to remain safe and now she was being chased after. "I left her with you Juvia." The woman shrunk back a little in fear. "Juvia is sorry. We were both struck with radiation and she can heal. Someone wants her."
I had this AU idea of Levy as a witch/sorceress-in-training a while back.... The student has a familiar that helps train him or her learn the ropes and become a successful witch/sorceress. In this AU Levy has PantherLily as her familiar and they make a great team. Levy has such a passion to learn that during her studies she stumbles across a mysterious book that contains a complex spell called "The Spellbound Pact" where you make a contract with a spirit. Spirit summoning is normal in this AU, but what makes this spell different is that the spirit you call is from a place called "The Void", a sort of magical prison. She becomes obsessed with learning about this spell, she sneaks into the restricted part of the library to find more information about The Void. She comes about a mysterious photograph of a former warlock who was condemned to The Void. She shares her findings with Lily. He takes one look at the photo and blows up, he forbids her to attempt the summoning....but she does it anyway.
"N-NOOO PANTHERLILY!!!!" She didn't have anytime to grieve her loss for the spirit swirled around her, he laughed as he flexed his hand, his nails elongated into sharp points. "Gihi, now it’s your turn…" Levy clutched her wand to her chest; he was going to pay for what he did. She summoned him; she would get rid of him! "I will dispel you back to The Void!" She pulled at her magical energy from deep within her and pointed her wand at him, but to her horror nothing happened. "GIHIHIHI!!! WHAT WAS THAT?" He laughed at her. "You don't have enough magic to dispel me, you stupid little witch!" Levy bit down on her lip. Oh no, he’s right…what do I do?? What do I do?? She thought as she watched him laugh hysterically at her dilemma. Suddenly she remembered something Lily had said to her earlier. I have to say his name to gain control of him and enact the pact…but, what was his name!? Oh if only I had listened to Lily. The spirit called out to her from across the chamber. "Oy...you got another plan, I see you thinking over there..." He then appeared behind her. "It won't work." He whispered in her ear, his voice felt like ice on her neck making goose bumps blossom all over her skin. His name, his name... I have to stall. She raised her wand and said "Disappear!" A cloud of pink smoke enveloped the room. He chuckled, crossing his arms. "I already told you, that is not gonna work on me." The smoke dissipated and he frowned…she was gone.
Err, I draw better than I write, but I did fix up this little bit. There is more, but nehhh, I'd rather doodle. Hahaha, anyways I'd imagine that Levy and Gajeel go on cool adventures and learn a lot from each other and eventually they begin to have feelings for one another so much so that Levy tries to find a way to free him from The Void so that he can be a human again and they can knock boots. Aww, happy endings!!! xD
