As someone who has been a fan of Gakumas for… idk 6 months now? I’d say…

YES!!!

I LOVE THE SONGS SO MUCH!! ESPECIALLY CHINA, TEMARI, AND UME’S SONGS THEY SHARE A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART. I LOVE THE CHARACTERS AS WELL UGH THEY’RE ALL SO UNIQUE IN A WAY!!!! My favs are Ume, Temari and Tsubame cuz why not they’re all cool characters!! I mostly focus on Ume tho cuz she’s my oshi and I relate to her a lot.

I just realized this but Temari almost reminds me of Shu in a way. Their personalities are different, but Temari kind of makes me think of what Shu would possibly act like in the future? A kind of “what if” timeline when Shu grows up, he begins to realize how much of an asshole he actually was. Which is why I’m planning to make Gakumas AU!Shu a little different than his KimiSute counterpart personality wise.

Ume sort of reminds me of my KimiSute OC, Ichijo! Both are hardworking, optimistic balls of energy that despite having low self esteem, often trust their gut instincts and have high potentials for becoming idols. Also their rivals are characters that’s music is based on synths and techno music. (Ichijo = Shu, Ume = Saki respectively)

I’m planning to develop this and my other Gakumas AU a little more. I hope that you look forward to it! :)

Okay but that aside, I recommend you get into the series! There are a few things that may come as obstacles. Like for instance, it’s kind of a character focused, visual novel type game, but thankfully there are translations up of YT for each of the idols’ commus and the main story of the game too! It may take a while to get to know ALL the characters, and I mean all 13 main characters, not including all the side characters too, but there’s also the Idolmaster Wiki to help with info and stuff. :3

The songs are also great too! All of the idols tend to follow a certain genre of music asides from just usual pop, and that’s what I find really awesome about Gakumas. The only characters that follow the J-Pop/Anison genre are Kotone (with her idol songs), Ume (kinda), and Lilya (where her songs are very adjacent to 2000-2010s anime songs).
