Sacrifice of Sheep/イケニエの羊
Here’s a story stored from long long ago. I’m talkin’ ancient history in our ancestry
There were two Gods glued in dispute, they’d feud for hours over power, warring ‘till worn
All that fighting, it called on lightning.
They would clash and thunder’d crash, and so they
Halved to instill two unwilling villages
“Get along” Yeah, they couldn’t for long. Divisions don’t imply devotion runs to one side
When the Gods saw, God were they cross. The crossing pawns brought on a rage paved way to chaos
Hell’s final ring circling the globe in total pandemonium, to sum it up, it all spun
Out of control from the road they chose
Tattered terror teared at their hearts, confusion ruined every want for calm and wish for quiet
Soon the weary feebly agreed “Okay, let’s seek a way to make this easy”
After thinking on it, they decided to cure the hunger of their idols
With a sinless soul
So, so
Ah, Marylamb, just as the Gods planned.
Your name carries the blame, be slain as we demand
“Cry before us! Nail him to the cross!”
The crowd shouts, hoping for peace long only a thought
“Please, somebody! I beg you, save me!”
Scream all you want little lamb, none shall hear your pleas
Ah, sorry sheep, no reason to bleat.
Your innocent fleece is an offer bound to appease
So let’s go back to our scheduled program, the foolish tale we wail upon an idiot’s trail
Everyday the villagers paid a little blood to keep the divine beings at ease
Wiping their brows, “It’s over now”
It’s away, so come let’s pray, and say that
Gods, I thank thee for your mercy, sparing me
‘Cept for him, future obviously dim. As everyday would pass, the lamb would mourn the forecast
‘Till a winged soul came with a goal. The lamb they lured in with a silver tongue and gold words
“You are destined this lesson, it’s merely testing you to prove it’s true. You’re more than worthy.
Once you have bled, you can then be blessed.”
The recompense for this test is hidden just beyond the bonds, past the lock of gate
The Door of Dilemma holds all the answers high in the sky, where God awaits
So deceived, the lamb believed the shadowed demon long without grace
Bore an angel’s face.
No, no
Ah, Marylamb. You can’t understand.
There’s no sense or defense in marking you as damned
Who’d be so cruel? Who’d be such a fool?
To pick you a heretic, what an unjust rule
How, poor lamb, can you take their hand?
Despite it all, you’re tall with might at your command
But it’s so much, even that cruel chance
Truly looked to be the only hope for the lost lamb.
Go forth now
Climb to the top, no reason to stop.
The stairs winding up bring you closer to Above
Ah, how they laughed, but they couldn’t grasp.
They scream “Go on, then!” to the child in misjudgment
“Today I, Marylamb, do as the Gods planned.”
His worn shoes kicked open the doorway to heaven
No more did he have reason to see
The cheap sense of pride stuck inside those cold beings
No, they can’t know, they can’t comprehend
His wish as he drifted, the thoughts of the condemned
So with that prayer, he fell through the air
The floor like before dry, as if he was never there
