ITS FUNNY YOU ASK BECAUSE I ACTUALLY MADE AN OC A WEEK AGO WITH A FRIEND AND HOO BOY DOES HE HAVE A BACKSTORY.

He’s a vampire and he lives in New York City and there’s vampire gangs everywhere and it’s super interesting ok.

“Reports have shown that many people are recovering from mysterious attacks around New York City. People say that strange bats in especially dark and secluded areas of the city are responsible for these attacks, and we are sending investigators on the job. Please, whatever you do, do not travel alone, and make sure you stay safe!”

Within the past decade or so, crime rate has gone up significantly in New York City, thanks to the sudden outbreak of gang activity. Despite this, these supposed gangs are rarely ever seen out in the open, and only ever seem interested in causing trouble not too far away from dark areas of the city that people actively avoid going in. The reason? That’s simple.

Within these areas reside ENORMOUS packs of vampires. No one is entirely sure why vampires suddenly appeared there, or why they’re in New York City, but one thing is for sure: Many people have either shown up dead, drained entirely of blood from their body, or they have mysteriously disappeared, only to appear again later after several months. Another thing for sure is that children have been mysteriously disappearing, with most of them snatched up while alone and with little supervision.

Among these gangs of vampires, there are two large gangs that have made a big name for themselves: The Claws and the Fangs. They’re the biggest of all the Vampire gangs, mostly because they were the first two to form when vampires started appearing in New York.

The Claws are the most dangerous of the two. They are known to be the strongest, fastest, and most bloodthirsty of the vampire gangs, and rightfully so. Despite only having a handful of members, the entirety of the Claws are filled with Pureblood vampires, meaning they have much less limitations and far more control of their power than a just-turned vampire would.

They are also known for kidnapping children and young teenagers, then keeping them as livestock to feed off of. They have large, seemingly abandoned warehouses along the outskirts of the city, allowing them to remain under the radar while they run their deadly operations. Few that get taken to these warehouses make it out alive. 

The Fangs is actually a derogatory term for them because it’s what the Claws would call “turned” vampires (or vampires who were previously human): All fang and no bite. They picked up the name in a way to prove the Claws wrong... Also because it sounded cool and they couldn’t think of a better name.

These guys are interesting. Most of the Fangs members are people who were victims of the Claws and somehow made it out alive, or got attacked by another gang and was turned into a vampire. Their numbers are much larger than the Claws, but they’re significantly weaker, since they were previously human. A good majority of them try to live normal lives, but because they’re kinda monsters now and afraid of facing their families after the ordeal, they kinda live with the Fangs now.

There’s a lot of smaller vampire gangs, but very few actually make a name for themselves,

Now here’s Criss’ backstory. Cause we need a dark and edgy backstory.

He and his younger sister were kidnapped when they were younger, and taken to one of the Claws’ warehouses as livestock. They were kept there for a long time, until Criss and his sister, along with a few friends they made in the warehouse devised an escape plan-- and it worked. Except not really. They had tracking microchips in their necks, which Criss didn’t figure out until he watched a couple of Claws members suddenly capture a couple of the escapees and drain the blood from their bodies. 

He noticed on their necks were strange markings, and he figured out what they were a little too late-- his sister was soon captured and killed, too. Criss managed to use a knife he stole from the warehouse and cut the microchip out, but... Well there was blood. A lot of it. He was found by a Fangs member and kinda forcibly turned and boy he was unhappy about it. But he later forgave them after a while because he had no where else to go and he started to warm up to them and see them as a family.

Ok later on the Fangs leader ended up getting killed and the new leader was a prick that tried to make the semi-peaceful Fangs more bloodthirsty like the Claws. Criss didn’t agree so he and a few other gang members broke off and made their own.

So anyway now Criss has his own vampire gang that lives off of blood plasma and a bunch of other shit wow typing this tired me out.
