We recently rewatched the lego movie 2 (I've mentioned this a few times now but its early in the morning and rn, thoughts)

And all I can think about is how Lucy from the beginning of the movie had wanted Emmet to change to be more "like the rest of Apocalypsburg" but then saw him changing (because Rex, who has problems and im not saying is perfect, he needs therapy but unfortunately I dont think lego people have therapy!) And is like "I was wrong and actually i like how kind and sweet and innocent you are"

But like!! I know it's nice that shes grown from the beginning of the movie but also

Girl!! Yeah tell your closest companion you dont think he's great enough for where yall live currently! Smart thinking (sarcasm)

I probably need more sleep since I woke up at like midnight for me (went to bed at like 5 pm yesterday) but still

I said I could make a post about my lego movie universe found family stuff

Its really just focused on Rex (and Emmet but thats bc it applies to them both)

So, one

Masterbuilders as a whole? Thats just a group of found familys, is it because we love the trope? Yes. Is it also true? Yes, cant tell me otherwise

Secondly!

Rex (and Emmet in turn but i like Rex more because we're autism over him)'s found family stuff [which for only Rex includes the raptors, which is totally not somewhat depressing, the implications of considering the raptors his family isnt sad i promise (i lie, it 100% has some sad implications)]

Is, in a timeline/universe/scenario where he's (Rex) not like... disappeared!! (Biting canon for this)

You have Unikitty and Watevra, daughters (i kept calling unikitty my daughter and now its just stuck as being his daughter in some sense, or a younger sister.) And watevra should be clear. Thats his daughter.

And Sweet Mayhem, more sisterly like (this is in part because of the fact Emmet (and in a way Rex) is supposed to stand in for Finn and Mayhem for Bianca [I think about the implications of the humans way too much sometimes but thats a different conversation] but also. Let the lego people with their silly found family :>)

And of course the rest of the friend group Emmet found himself in is just

I love these stupid lego people, have since before the second movie (the second movie just made it more and then it recently sparked back up so, fun!!)
