YO I saw ur tags that angry Spock post and I TOTES vibe. I come from a family of ppl with major anger issues who lash out at everyone, so I learned to suppress all anger til the point I didn’t know how to feel it, bcuz I didn’t want to be like them, and didn’t truly try to learn how to experience it until college. I was always afraid one day I might explode too far, so I am glad I found a way of learning how to embrace it healthfully. Anger is a helpful weapon, like a sword, but a weapon still.

the few times we see aos Spock truly angry--when he’s bullied as a child, after the destruction of Vulcan, and then again after Jim dies--it’s justified. there are definitely ways to depict grief that don’t involve fists, but anger is a natural response to being bullied and a natural response a great loss.

i get that his anger is violent and explosive and consequently unpalatable to a lot of viewers, but the guy’s been struggling to suppress his emotions all his life. he clearly hasn’t yet learned how to process or channel them in a healthy way and consequently they come out in angry fits. it’s completely understandable and doesn’t mean he’s not also gentle and soft. he just has some growing to do.

(i realize this could be read in the wrong way and someone might think i’m trying to justify violence or abuse. i just mean that anger is an ugly emotion but a necessary one that we all experience. no emotion can simply be repressed, even the less palatable ones, and Spock isn’t a less character because he experiences it)

Oh no, I don’t think that’s the case. You don’t miss the first and they’re locked out. It’s just I like to plan these things out, know what I’m doing beforehand. 

But...new game...that’s impossible. I don’t yet know these characters well enough to decide what kind of Ryder would be most compatible for them.

But no, I don’t think you screwed anything up, I’m just failing at being meticulous.
