SAKURAI HAS DONE IT AGAIN. The second Kirby AirRiders direct's ending contained yet another massive lore drop with implications that shattered all expectations. But what do they mean for the start of this brand new Kirby story? As a very passionate Kirby fan, I'd like to share my thoughts/theories and explain it all!
The "Inorganic Life-Form" Zorah is described by Sakurai as being in a state where it is conscious without the capability to move. This state is almost dreamlike in nature, a very important distinction, which means Zorah has the ability to share it's dreams through an important Dreamland relic...
...The Fountain of Dreams. It acts as the protector of Dreamland's Dreams, ensuring everyone has good rest. The water from the fountain holds these hopes and dreams inside. Zorah's ability to connect to the Fountain results in it's dream to finally be released, sending those fragments of it's consciousness into the universe.
During a brief moment in the story's explanation, Sakurai even alludes to this.
Zorah's dream...was also a wish.
Through the Fountain of Dreams, it would appear that Zorah directly made an attempt to summon a Clockwork Star, otherwise known as Galatic Nova, for it's one wish to be granted and succeeded. The mist from the Fountain can be seen shimmering upon Nova, communicating the wish in an otherworldly cosmic fashion, before the star awakens in reception.
Unchecked, the power of a Clockwork Star has no bounds- Clearing up the meaning to the end of the direct was only the beginning.
As a simple and quick theory, the Dark Matter-esk rider is more than likely a result of Zorah's wish which I presume is for freedom. It will be interesting to see if this rider is Zorah itself or is only connected to it.
As for the Air-Ship fleet that can be most easily spotted behind the "Zorah rider" in the first direct (and returns in the second for less than a second), I'm getting a strong feeling that Zorah is running away from rather than running with it. It could mean that these ominous ships have been searching for Zorah across the universe for an unknown purpose as for now.
...While I'm sure a lot of this was obvious to long-time fans such as myself, I couldn't help but get my ideas out there to those who may have missed the more subtle details! Thanks for reading!
