So I've been writing a paper on trans masculinity and the invisibility we face as a community. And it has gotten HUGE.
So far I have it separated into major sections:
Trans men in history (and how they have been erased)
Transgender history (and the lack of focus on trans masculinity)
Trans men in news (and how they have been mislabeled and erased)
Anti-transgender laws (and how they affect transgender masc/men, which includes reproductive rights)
Lacking trans men/masculine characters in public media (this includes side characters and the lack of main characters)
Anti-trans masculine sentiment on social media (and how it affects the public and social view)
Medical malpractice experienced by many trans men/masc
I am waiting to get access to more resources to reference in this study, but I also need interviews.
If anyone is interested in an interview to share your experience as a trans masc or trans man or if you knew someone who is trans masculine or a trans man, please reach out!
So this has gone a somewhat different direction but it'll be easier in the long run.
I've split this up into three major pieces thatll have an overarching paper to connect them together!
I'm still workshopping interview questions for my paper on the effects of trans masculine hyperinvisiblity, but I'm hopeful it'll be soon enough
