Masked Identity (Alexander Hamilton x Reader)
NOTE: This is set in the actual time era of the Winter’s Ball, only adding the fact of it being a masquerade ball. The Schuyler Sisters are here but...let’s just say a group, in particular, had no interest in them...yet. This is only a one-shot not gonna be a series. Until I can have more time, I will do an actual series.

The night sky appeared to glisten with its many stars as a crisp breeze swept a stray tress of your hair to the side. You quivered and pulled your coat closer as your gaze shifted upwards towards the massive home in front of you, your breath being evident in the cold weather.
Numerous guests, men, and women alike rush inside, not desiring to be in the cold any longer. Their conversations flow by you so fast.
You were standing in front of the home of General George Washington, who was operating a masquerade Winter’s Ball.
Your gown wasn’t too extravagant but had the right equivalence of elegant and simplicity of it, your acquaintance, tailored this gown to perfection. The equivalent could say for your mask that rested over your face.
A small exhale left your lips as you raised your gown and began to travel inside.
The difference of temperature was drastic as a young man volunteered to take your coat. You greeted, and gently took off your coat and gave it to the man, thanking him for his service.
“It is nothing, miss,” he responded. “I am only doing my job.”
You nodded and beamed as the man disappeared with your coat, taking more coats of incoming guests.
You glimpsed back at the core of the ball where most of the couples who had entered were dancing happily at their partner’s side.
“Pardon me if I am disrupting your sight-seeing of the couples dancing,”
A masculine voice had interfered your thoughts. You whirled around, your gown gliding gracefully behind you as you gawked at a masked gentleman in front of you.
“But, if you are not occupied, may I have a dance with you?”
You were indecisive, but you took the time to pay attention towards this man’s character. Intelligent eyes were behind that mask, you could recognize it. The way his smile was brilliant, it told he was a bit arrogant. Not to mention, the firm, yet somehow, untidy ponytail the man had. But the main component to this man’s looks was his navy-blue soldier’s coat. He operated with Washington.
Yet, you smirked.
“How could I say no? After all, dancing with a stranger I do not know is always such a delightful event.”
He chuckled, as you took his hand as he led you towards the ballroom floor.
“Your mockery was not needed, miss. I solely just asked a dance with such a gorgeous woman such as you.”
He returned as he gazed into your eyes, you locking eyes with him. As another waltz began to play, you curtsied him as he bowed to you. Tenderly, he settled your hands where they must be, as the two of you stared at each other, dancing to the melody on this special night.
“Never would I have thought a man would speak silvertongue towards me.”
You said as he delicately dipped you downwards. You had to admit, this man was truly marvelous at ballroom dancing than you had anticipated.
“It is nothing but the mere truth my lady.”
He hoisted you back up and twirled you around, having both his hands enclosed around your waist and your back held upon his chest. Swaying side to side for a bit was seemingly relaxing to you, excluding the fact that you were with a stranger.
“As you say.”
You simply said, your special behavior slowly wavering the longer time you spent with this man. After all, you weren’t a particularly high-class person in reality. The mask you wore would disguise the fact that you are nothing but an underclass girl in this world.
"You strike me, as a woman who has never been satisfied."
He abruptly said, the two of you not parting away from each other's hold. You slightly turned your head to look at him, perplexed about what he had said.
"I am sure I do not know what you mean, you forget yourself."
You had scoffed as he released you, the warmth of your bodies suddenly fading. The two of your exchanged thanks for the dance, yet he took your hand.
"You are like me, my lady," he told. "I am never satisfied."
"I can see it in your eyes, you have never been satisfied with the things in your life."
Your eyes shifted away from his. It was true. Even though your life was simplistic and enjoyable most of the time, you couldn’t help but feel like you needed more. Something greater. You had always strived for something better in life.
“Is that right?”
You ask, your voice getting softer and softer. He lifted up your hand and pressed a kiss on your knuckles, you could feel a small blush tint your cheeks.
“I have never been satisfied, my lady.”
You gazed at him with such admiration, you never believed a man who could share the same personality as you. You sigh, letting your guard and special persona down.
“My name is [Y/N] [L/N].”
“Alexander Hamilton.”
You smiled, finally discovering this man’s name. Alexander stood up, joining arms with you. You gave him a questioning look, there was no need for words, he just beamed at you as he guided you outside into the General’s unrestricted field. The stars appeared to gleam even clearer once the two of you had departed the residence, and although it was still chilly outside, the heat between you two had made your trip much more relaxing than you had anticipated.
"What are we doing here, Mr. Hamilton?"
You looked at the glorious flowers that were seemingly still alive even due to the cold and harsh weather the town is in. The petals still had their vibrant colors to them, even in the worst of times, their beauty still appealing.
"Miss [L/N], I have felt a fiery desire for you since I had laid eyes on you." Alexander had confessed, his eyes not gazing at you, but at the stars above. "I led you out here because I am selfish."
"My fellow friends have been focussing on you once we entered, I just required their eyes off from us."
Staring at the soil, you grew flustered. Alexander’s words had captured you in a sense of shock, causing you to be incapable of processing information. But you had recently met him, how could he be falling for a stranger, let alone you in particular. No unique characteristics, not even born into a prosperous class, you simply had your brain to make up for it, but even that wasn’t enough.
“Out of everyone..." you lingered off. "Out of all the gorgeous women here you chose me..."
"Explain yourself."
You withdrew your arm aside from Alexander, the tears stinging your eyes as you watched Alexander. He could be playing you for a fool, and you were not going to let that occur.
Alexander gingerly caressed your cheek before cupping your small face in his hands. He seemed as if he was about to crumble into tears. You immediately felt sorry for questioning the genuineness of his love when you should have just given it an opportunity.
"I understand, it seems absolutely ridiculous when I say it, but please you must believe me." he pleaded, pulling you close. "If I let you run right now, I will never see you again. I cannot let anything this amazing slip from my grasp."
And in a flash it happened: Alexander's lips connected with yours as he leaned you in for a passionate kiss in the moonlight. You melted into the kiss, your hands progressing up to his mask and swiftly loosening it.
Tearing away from each other to breathe, you stared at Alexander's features without the mask.
He looked more handsome than you imagined. You couldn't prevent the heat speeding up to your cheeks, making you shift away to conceal your face.
"Am I that charming, [Y/N]?"
Alexander inquired with a smirk, your face becoming even redder when he asked you by your name. Tenderly, he lifted your mask, unveiling your face. He marveled at you, smirking through it all.
"You are...gorgeous, [Y/N]..." he removed stray curls out of your face once more. "Let me see your face, my love."
Shyly you glanced at Alexander, a small smile on your face. Alexander raised you up and twirled you around, both of your laughter echoing in the crisp air.
"Write to me, Alexander. Never forget about me,"
You whispered as you were cradled in his arms. Kissing your forehead, Alexander drew you closer.
"I could never forget you, mon amour."
Closing your eyes, you slept in the arms of your lover. The two of you fell asleep in the garden, afterward being brought in by Martha Washington herself and sleeping in the spare room they had.

Alternate Route:
You woke up to daylight pouring into the window, instantly waking you up. You looked around the room to try and find Alexander, but he was nowhere to be found.
Then you realized...
THAT THIS WAS SOME BULLSHIT DREAM.
