What You Will Experience

The exhibit features thoughtful and compelling works across watercolor, quilting, mixed media, zines, cross stitch, quilling, and other creative forms. Each piece offers a unique perspective on issues affecting women and our community. Guided by creative prompts from group founder Kristen Sydow, artists explored themes such as housing inequity, the Pink Tax, access to healthcare, gender based violence, economic mobility, and community belonging. Some artists responded closely to these prompts while others followed their own direction, resulting in a collection that is diverse, expressive, and deeply engaging.

Why Craftivism and About the Collective

Craftivism brings creativity and activism together, using art to promote social change and inspire meaningful action. The Designed For Joy Craftivism Collective carries this spirit forward through the work of artists from a wide range of backgrounds including sewing, painting, quilting, illustration, photography, and design. United by a shared commitment to our mission to empower women in crisis, the Collective creates pieces that encourage viewers to reflect, connect, and consider their role in building a more just and compassionate community.

Favorite Color: Red

Favorite Food: Rice and Steak

Favorite Pastime: Watching TV

Favorite Animal: Cat. I like all cats but especially black cats and fluffy cats. I like to cuddle with them.

Favorite Part of my Face: I love my hair the most because it is short and I like short hair.

More political work by Eric Fischl. The idle of the suburban landscape reveals the unease of the times. Centered around the all american swimming pool, thes evocative paintings scratch at the surface of what is out of balance in america today. The aging white male, bloated and sun burned is heading into his twilight. Things are changing and will never be the same. Check it out through June 24th.

Favorite Color: Orange

Favorite Food: Sun butter sandwiches

Favorite Pastime: Going to the Library

Favorite Animal: Bee. I like bees because they are cute. I am planning to have a pet bee. We would take the stinger out but won’t cut the antenna.

Favorite Part of my Face : I like my mouth most. When I am surprised, my mouth stays open and I am surprised a lot.

Favorite part of my Face : Alpacas are a kind of camel. I like alpacas because they look so soft and fluffy.
