There have been many attempts to replicate the success of Symphony of the Night, but few felt as fresh as 2006’s Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. The dual-playable characters and WWII setting really helped this one to stand out, even if the soundtrack ended up being mostly forgettable.
Here we have the 20th Anniversary Pack, which came with a poster, art booklet, sampler CD, stylus, and stylus case. The art book is comprised of key art that most people will be familiar with, though there are a few short interviews as well. Likewise, the soundtrack couldn’t really be considered comprehensive, but this was 2006 and not everyone knew how to use torrents at the time.
One cute easter egg involved the DS hardware itself. The game would play a sound of a coffin lid closing whenever you put the system into sleep mode.
