In Disneyland I also photographed things like the carousel just because the lights and colours of it were very interesting to me, even though Disneyland wouldn’t necessarily be considered as an influential thing to others, the childhood aspect of it alone is something I love, but the lights and aesthetics are also beautiful to me.

As well as the Banksy work, there was also the work of two artists, Icy and Sot, which are similar political graffiti works that have similar messages. I enjoyed seeing their similarities and the inspiration that Banksy must have had for them.

In Hong Kong disneyland, though I didn’t necessarily go to look for art inspiration, I did find inspiration in the aesthetics of the park but also particularly in the costumes and floats of the parades, which were over the top and very interesting to look at. Each costume and float was beautifully designed to be recognisable of one of the stories or reminiscent to the theme, and they told individual stories too.

I do like film work and work in dark spaces, so these two pieces were quite inspiring to me for something I could create, especially the one on the screen as me and my group are considering displaying our work on screens in our showing of our work. I also loved the subject matter of the film, she was just chewing food. The work was uncomfortable but very interesting to me.

One of my favourite pieces in the Lead Balloon exhibition was the one that said to please take a copy of something that was so high up. It was a great commentary on accessibility and I loved that it infuriated people who couldn’t reach (which was pretty much everyone), but it was also infuriating because I wanted to know what the copies were of.
The Lead Balloon exhibition was well curated and very interesting to look at. It was quite interesting that they only had it open for one night, which made it quite exclusive and rare and exciting, and also it meant that it was alive with people who only had one chance to see the work. It was also quite interactive as the artists were there and I had chance to ask some of them questions about their work or give comments in person.
