Now I have the image of a time travel arc. Nobody in Cappy Town understands how Future Dedede is so nice. (Also, future Meta Knight is MUCH more fight-happy than his past self; Future Dedede reveals that defeating Nightmare brought out MK's love for fighting. Which is fine, as long as he stops tryING TO FIGHT ALL THE DEMON BEASTS ALONE GOD DAMN IT FUTURE META KNIGHT-)
Oh, for sure! If Game!Kirby, Meta, and Dedede came to the anime world, they would most definitely catch the attention of the Cappies. They’re just so different from their anime selves that it’s kinda hard not to draw attention. Also for some reason, the keep reading link won’t work so the cut is just gone :P I don’t know why.
The Kirbiess are more or less the same, but game Kirby can talk and requires less guidance than his anime self. They still love to eat and make new friends, and they bond over their love of Kawasaki’s food, fruit, and friends. Anime Dedede is horrified that there’s another Kirby, while anime Kirby is oblivious and cheerfully shows his new friend around the castle.
The Cappies have no idea how on Nova the new Dedede (AKA game Dedede) is this nice. Plus, he has a boyfriend (and it’s Meta Knight, no less!). The Cappies have never seen anyone have a same-sex relationship like Meta and Dedede do, but they’re accepting all the same because they’re not getting beaten around by the new king.
The Meta Knights would probably spar- as curious as they are of the other, they want to fight first. In private (they were never really social, after all), they talk about their worlds and what it’s like. Game Meta shows off his wings and proudly uses his dimensional magic, while anime Meta asks him how to take care of injured wings. They loathe about being short together XD
Game Dedede, on the other hand, thinks his anime self is a huge asshole. Yes, he knows he was also an asshole in the past, but seeing his anime self just makes him cringe. He doesn’t like how this world’s Meta Knight is so distant and formal either, but that just makes him appreciate his own Meta Knight more. Game Dedede will often pick up his Meta Knight and kiss him, or let him ride on his head or something like that. And then anime Dedede orders a demonbeast, and everything goes to hell.
For once, both Kirbies are doing nothing in the case of a demon attack. They’re just sitting back, eating fruit, and watching game Meta Knight beat it up. This goes well at first, but anime Dedede catches on and orders a whole horde of demonbeasts. And as you said, anon, game Dedede literally has to hold his Meta Knight to make sure he doesn’t FIGHT ALL OF THEM ALONE-
And fighting is just something that I feel Meta Knight has always enjoyed. His love for fighting was amplified after fighting Nightmare :) Thanks for the ask, anon!
