its so funny to me the concept of student teachers especially now that im dating one...
like, when you're in school they seem so adult & grown up!!!! but now that ive made out, cuddled, tickled, run around a park with my bf who is 24 and has student taught.... they're children!!! absolute children!!! (at least mine is, so i can only imagine how the others are!) 😂

when i was in high school, i took 3 years of spanish and did terribly because i was in a bad home situation. i didnt take any foreign language in community college. but when i got admitted and committed to my university, they told me AFTERWARDS that i was required to take 4 semesters of a foreign language. so i was like. ill just take spanish. itll be easy. i took three years of it.
fast forward to first week of classes. professor tells me theres a placement exam. i panic. i want to stay in spanish 101 so i dont have to learn anything new. at this point, im still confident that my shitty spanish will last me four semesters despite not taking spanish for three fucking years. ok, i tell myself. ive done this before. ill just purposefully bomb the placement exam. no one will know.
this was my plan. i go online to take the placement exam. i didnt know a single fucking question. i remembered 0 spanish. i wrote ‘tengo un gato en mis pantalones’ in an extended response portion where i didnt understand the question because that was the only phrase i remembered.
i got placed into spanish 101.
three years of high school spanish. wasted.

dude as long as i dont have to deal with chicago winters anymore. like, i love chicago, but the winters here are fucking brutal. im not used to hot temps tho since ive lived in the north all my life. im also worried about diversity, since chicago is v diverse and going to a place thats not will be scary for me.
