The Witcher: Wild Hunt
The Witcher 3 is an open world RPG, where you are a profesional monster hunter, tracking down a woman in black and white. While this game was being developed i knew nothing about it accept what i would hear from friends. what they told me was that Skyrim is basically a watered down version of what the Witcher 3 would be. I got to say i’m a little bit disapointed by what i saw. Besides the compelling plot of the story and the awesome hair graphics that will make you ask “why can’t my hair blow in the wind like any of these characters?”
Other than the immaculate hair, the foliage in the would looks so bad and the wind blowing all of it in a different direction from everything else in the game, makes it seem like the war going on in the games story isn’t the problem, but the problem is why no character in the game is wondering why the wind is blowing in every single direction at the same time. I know that it sounds like this is a minor thing but when the game includes an in game weather forecast it should make sense.
The in-game mechanics are just as rocky, the movement controls are so delayed i had a hard time getting from point a to point b without getting frustrated with the fact you play as a magical monster hunter but you still need a normal horse name roach... roach really couldn’t think of a badass name for the main characters stallion? But i digress, the map is to big and the moving is to delayed and slow for the open world they have built for the game.
Like many open world games you have to travel the land eventually running into creatures and enemies blocking your path and certain points in the story. The issue i had with this is when this occurs you normally have items that help you regain you health so you at least you have a fighting chance. With the Witcher 3 you have only a small time period in which your character heals himself a little bit of health at a time (maybe 28 sec totally healing for each item) in the short time period you are healing yourself little bit by little bit the enemy has a good chance to mess your shit up and ruin the the fun you could be having chopping down the enemy and using the knock off force push they give you.
