The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006) ♡ dev. bethesda game studios
what would you say if your fav fic of yours and why? (finished or wip) be verbose if you want to be
hmmm.... that's really difficult. i actually had to open up a couple and sort of weigh what they meant to me to come up with an answer.
it's o tempora, o mores. it's not my most popular fic. and while yeah, i'd love it if more people liked that fic... i didn't write it for anybody but myself. i wrote a lot in a short period of time because i frankly didn't care, for a while, about quality. i just had so many ideas in my head and i wanted to get them out (#adhd).
so the fics i have the fondest memories of are my longest fics - except for honey & venom, i actually don't like that one very much. but part of the reason i like the other longer fics is because i had fun with the ideas and i had fun with not just the writing process, but the editing process.
but o tempora, o mores was a little different than those. it was cathartic for me. i was in a lot of mental anguish from trying to deal with unmedicated ocd for, like...27? years. and not just unmedicated but also not knowing there was something wrong with me because i was too scared to talk about it. i didn't know how to. and more than pretty much any other problem i had going on, ocd has always been the biggest and most prevalent. it is the one that makes me the most difficult to be around and it is the thing that makes my life the most difficult.
i just wanted to write it to communicate, and from what i remember it seems like i communicated it well. i don't reread it often, but i'm still fairly proud of how it turned out.
Even after my many months of culting the lamb, I can NOT sacrifice Ratau. In general, in games, I'm very soft, but in cotl, I do get more silly with it. I've sacrificed a couple of followers, and I find talisman very precious to me. I have all but one shard.
Ratau is the first in the game that guides you. And he's certainly much easier to contact than Narinder. He teaches us how to play knucklebones, and it's not too wild to assume he even goes easy on us at times. He's expresses pride in us and a kindness that's nowhere else in the game. Even if you do sacrifice him, his words come off as more concern for You. He's not angry at you or scornful but rather worried. I am just physically incapable of harming someone who is so truly a friend of the lamb.
8 for spotify wrapped if nobody has said it!
Dirk, holding up GameBro magazine: The Bible.
Jane: That says “The Bibble”.
Dirk: Do you question the words of the mighty Jimmy?!
misa amane for the character ask!!
My opinion of that character
I LOVE HER. my problematic queen. she did all that and she looked cute while she did it.
My favorite canon thing about that character
you see, this is hard to answer, because she's written in like the most misogynist way possible. like should i say her outfits? they're fucking awesome for sure. but i think i'm going to say that i love how petty she is.
My least favorite canon thing about that character
her english voice. i know dubs are already kind of contentious subjects and it certainly plays into the way that she's written, but it's just... idk. i would have preferred something different. a little less valley girl and a little more goth.
My favorite headcanon(s) for that character
not a headcanon, but i do want to plug this fic i read recently where death note gets timelooped and she's just so fucking cool in it. it's called (naked in that garden) back at the beginning.
My least favorite headcanon(s) about that character
it's been a while since i dabbled in the death note fandom, and luckily i never hung around misa haters, so i don't know that i really have one. i will say though that i'm not all that fond of matsuda/misa, does that count? i just think it's kinda bland.
Three headcanons I have about that character
she's bisexual and polyamorous but has the worst case of "no i can't do that" going on in her head.
related to that: she's caught herself checking out others and wondering what her life could be like if she wasn't devoted to kira and his cause. she's telling herself she loves light, in the same way a lot of people in bad relationships stick together because they're scared to be alone. but there's a part of her that wants out.
there's also a part of her that loves the antagonism she has with competition for light's attention. she's smarter than she comes across and she's so fucking bored. i like the idea of her kicking everyone's ass at games no one expects her to win, like trivia or chess.
I LOVE MOUTHWASHING!! IM GONNA WASH MY MOUTH UNTIL I HYPERFIXATE ON SOMETHING ELSE OR DIE!!!
