I finally have a job!

Well technically for a while I had two jobs (I wouldn’t have gone for the first if I knew I’d get the second).

So after too long a time unemployed, what’s my new job?

Video games testing.

Yup.

(It is not as exciting as it sounds. I’m under an NDA because I can be testing new games, and most of my time is following specific test requirements. But I have a job that I get paid for!)

After four weeks of games testing, some of my thoughts:

Everyone is friendly and willing to help

You have multiple benches and each bench has 6 positions - position 4 is Schrodinger's Position. You either have a lot of MP tests to run, or barely any

I work in the Microsoft building, yet none of the computers I’m on have a genuine version of Windows + MS Office Suite

You’re hardly ever working on the same game - titles are in for 1 or 2 days, and odds are even if you’re there both days you’ll likely be switched to a different bench/game

Games with long unskippable cutscenes are bad for testing

I hate MOBAs

I also hate sports games that presume you know all the ins and outs of the sport’s rules
