Wishology Rant
I've been watching Wishology again. I love that trilogy. But since I've done dozens (it feels like dozens) of remixes of the title, I think you know that already. That aside, I want to talk about something that has been bothering me from I've learned about Fairly Odd Parents. Mostly in the Big Beginning.
Jorgen Von Strangle erasing everyone's memories of Timmy Turner so they don't go shouting out his name. That's understandable and all I guess. Sure, you didn't want Timmy to get eliminated before you got the chance to tell him that he was the Chosen One. But why give him a vague clue to not say his name? Jorgen knows Timmy isn't that bright.
So why erase everyone's memories of him? Why not just let them be in on the fun and try to help him early on? I do realize it is for plot reasons and all. But I have to look back on Da Rules. Yes, I'm using the book Jorgen loves to death against him.
It says clearly in Da Rules that magic cannot interfere with true love. So if Da Rules say that a fairy cannot interfere with true love then how does Jorgen's spell work on Timmy? I mean, I can understand his friends, his enemies, etc.
But what I can't understand is his parents. That's right, I'm talking about Mr. and Mrs. Turner. Canonically known as Barnaby and Mom Turner. (Personally I'm going to call them Terrance and Tamara Turner, it just makes more sense.)
Anyways, the Da Rules clearly state that fairies magic cannot interfere with true love. Now, it doesn't state specifically what kind of love but it can be translate into parental love. Because in most, if not all of the episodes of FOP, Timmy's parents are just rotten to him.
That's why he got Cosmo and Wanda in the first place. Because of his bad home life or better known as no parental love from his parents. Sure, they loved him from the beginning but that was when they thought he was going to be a girl.
So basically what we have here is a case saying that Jorgen didn't brake Da Rules when he created that spell. He basically wanted to hide Timmy until it was safe to take him to Fairy World.
Sure what he did with the plan was idiotic. But his spell just means one thing. A very heartbreaking thing. His parents just don't love this little boy that needs parents more than he needs fairies.
Yes, he does love his fairies but we all know from 'Channel Chasers' that it doesn't last forever. But still, without parental love, he's unable to give Tommy and Tammy what they need. Fatherly love. Mainly because, after a certain point in his life, Timmy Turner didn't have any love from his parents...
(been watching too much of Game Theory and Wishology.)
