seeing your muse in somewhere they didn’t expect to see

By this time, Kang Min was used to seeing kids around school, but he was still eager to get the hell away from as many as he could when the school day ended. His strides towards the music department were quick, as the man was eager to get home as soon as possible. Why? So he could shower, change and hit the streets of Seoul to look for Pokémon. He had seen kids playing it around campus, even getting in trouble for playing it during class. Min was one of the teachers that was quick to take away a phone for the class if he caught a student playing, and certainly was quick to whip out his own phone and catch whatever Pokémon they had been trying to. Stepping into the offices, he was met with silence. Thankfully, everybody else had left or had some sort of after school activity, so he headed towards his own office whistling. To his surprise, upon opening the door to his office, his eyes landed on a student he had never seen before. Phone in their hand, Min’s mind raced to come up with some kind of clue as to why they’d be in his office. Test answers, possibly. Valuables? The only thing valuable in his office at the moment was his very existence. His eyes narrowed on the familiar screen he saw on the other’s phone before he whipped out his own, making promises of demerit points and detention... But not before catching the Dratini that the student had probably come into his office to catch for himself.

there are two instances that kang ji yong would ever do this to gan ji.

1) they’re twelve again, and he’s painfully unaware that platonic displays of affection between boys and girls are best kept to casual arm slinging and leg slapping.

2) he’s trying to annoy her.

unluckily for sid, the latter always applied. it’s what has his lips pressed against her cheek so unceremoniously, boyish lilt muffling against her skin as she whines in vehement protest. in ji yong’s defense, her reactions were top notch: the way her nose scrunched up and her lips snarled and her cheeks reddened... in his eyes, she was the cutest (all 177 cm of her).

“what’re you ‘gonna do, beat me to death with your carrot slices?”

he says with a grin, scooting closer to her where they were seated on the steps outside, swiping a carrot strip from her lunch box. he flicks the thin slice on the tip of her nose before taking a few bites, looking at her expression with an innocent smile and the orange bits between his teeth.

a meeting adjourns to free time, kids drawing in sketchbooks and working on sculptures, scribbling poems into notebooks and whispering laughter. seunghee pops her gum, tapping a gel pen repeatedly against her forearm and wondering if now is too soon to skip out.

her eyes flicker across faces, looking for one that shows some sign of being ready to get the fuck out of here, but it seems she’s the only one who feels this way.

a heavy sigh, lazily scribbling a mandala onto her hand that she has no intentions of finishing, seunghee lets her mind drift, eyes following suit.

she stops on a figure looking too intensely at paper.

within seconds she’s sitting across from the girl, smirking, and leaning forward so that she can make eye contact, “my offer still stands from the other day, you know,” she says before sitting back.

seunghee leans back hard enough that she has to balance on the two back legs of the chair, “i’m kidding, unless you’re interested. you’re...?” she sits up straight again, a charming grin plastered to her face, “i totally forgot to ask yeeun for your name. i’m seunghee, by the way, in case yee didn’t say it loud enough.”

This was a bit too much for him to handle. He had wanted to ask Sid out in-- okay, not like that!! But he had been dying to ask if she wanted him to show her where that ice cream bar was, yet Yongha wasn’t that bold when he actually wanted something. It was only when things were irrelevant that he could go all out. Not when he was crushing hardcore and felt like he wasn’t worth the time of day. Yet he didn’t even have to ask, she did that all on her own, and he might’ve had to go out and take a breather when the plans were settled. It was nothing extraordinary by any means, but the third year could merely breathe in his direction and he’d consider himself #blessed.

He had gone as far as writing it down: ‘meet Sid after practice to go get vegan ice cream!!’, but for once in his life he hadn’t felt the need to check his phone even once. That’s the one thing Yongha couldn’t forget despite the passing of half a day, mostly because it was all he thought about through classes, lunch and even more classes. So it never even got an honest chance to slip out of his mind in the first place. Yes, it was that bad.

It was nice to get out of his tailored school uniform and into some black tights and something long, loose and cool (in this summer weather) that reached beyond his knees, much more dress than shirt -- and in a floral pastel design, of course. Yongha was waiting by the gate just as planned, nose in phone for the first time today to brush up on what he had missed while completely zoning out these past few hours. When he spotted Sid approaching the first year raised his free hand to wave, a radiant smile on his lips. He was so excited! “Hey” he greeted cheerfully, patiently waiting for her to close up with him, “you ready?”
