OVA: Defeat Him! The Pirate Ganzack

Foe: Ganzack

When it occurs in the story: between the Buggy arc and the Kuru arc

The crew is hungry since they at all the fish to quickly. They are attacked by a monster. The monster destroys the ship and takes Nami away. They get on an island and meet a girl, Medeka. Once Luffy saves her from some pirates, her grandfather tells  Zoro and Luffy that a pirate, Ganzack, is forcing the adult population to work towards building something in a tower. Medeka, Luffy, and Zoro break into the tower to defeat Ganzack and get her father. We find out Nami joined Ganzack because is loaded. The three are captured, but Nami frees them.  The villagers rebel as the Luffy defeats Ganzack as everyone else destroys the tower, the monster, and the ship that was under all of it.

Thoughts: Ganzack shares a lot of elements with the East Blue villains. It's pretty good, though the change in animation style and voice actors is odd, though it makes sense since this is an OVA.
