People always wondered why Buggy is slightly "evil" when he came from the same crew as Shanks, but like...Oda just confirmed in SBS 112 that he grew up on a ship that had a designated torturer. I don't think his personality was all that different tbh. If anything Buggy fit in just fine.

I think we sometimes forget Luffy & the strawhats are very....nice in comparison to most pirate crews. If anything Shanks being more like the Strawhats points to HIM being the odd one out in the Roger Pirates.

He's very sweet & it's not something that was taught, but rather something innate. Even when he shot at Bartolomeo, he hesitated & his crew had to step in to cover for him so that he wouldn't look "weak". Cruelty does not come naturally to him.

I dunno, I just feel like other than being weaker, Buggy actually fit in quite well with the typical pirate life. Shanks being so naturally strong might've been the only thing keeping him from being the black sheep of the Roger Priates, which is very interesting to think about.

#i mean overall Buggy is probably a bit more nefarious but like #i don't think Roger or any other Roger Pirate would find it a problem #unlike Luffy who does have issues with his crew doing shitty things just to be shitty #it feels like the more we learn about the Roger Pirates #the more it seems Shanks was just....different #So him being a powerful prodigy is a double edge sword #it let him blend in while still maintaining his personality & values #but it came with a responsibility & pressure to forsake his desires #I read someone say once that perhaps Roger gave him the hat so he would actually feel more like he belonged #rather than it being simple favoritism & so Buggy completely misinterpreted it #and that Roger never gave Buggy extra attention bcus he didn't NEED it #and now I'm wondering if there was some truth to that other than the child of destiny stuff 🤔#dude if Buggy ends up being Rocks' kid as well?? 1980: The Australian government founds the new free-to-air TV station 'SBS'. It quickly gains the nickname 'Sex Before Soccer' after some creative attempts to drum up audiences sees it become world's only government broadcaster to regularly televise pornography.

Introducing one such film, a station presenter famously quipped on air "Tonights movie contains plenty of nudity, sword fighting, and nude sword fighting".

To keep censors happy, the pornographic films would often not be listed in TV guides, instead scheduled as part of multi-hour anthology blocks under titles like 'Erotic Tales' or 'Eat Carpet', where they would be mixed in with obscure international movies. As a result, to this day there is a generation of men in Australia with an unusually robust knowledge of European arthouse films, gained while waiting for porn to begin.
