It was no secret that you and Gaou were smitten with each other everyone on the football team saw it.
Your classmates saw it.
It seemed the only ones who couldn't see it was you and Gaou.
Now where did that leave you?
Nervous.
You had been thinking about this for weeks. You even wrote him a letter explaining how much you admired him, but then you threw it away thinking that would be a stupid idea.
You were just gonna go up to him and ask. He would appreciate you being straight forward instead of hiding behind a stupid letter.
Now the only problem was getting the courage to do so, and getting him alone.
Kisaragi was a good friend but sometimes it felt like he was getting in the way. Not that you needed more time alone with Gaou, he would walk you home everyday without being asked to and the two of you were always together during your lunch break.
Its just Kisaragi followed Gaou around as much as you did and of course there they were standing infont of their locker with Kisaragi babbling on about something.
As you got closer to the pair Kisaragi was quick to notice you, giving you his sweet smile and waving hello.
"We were about to head to practice, you coming with?" He asked, sweet smile still on his face.
"Uh, yeah." You were so nervous your voice started to crack. It was now or nothing.
"W-well Gaou, I was wonder i-if I could talk to you," your voice was so shaky you were starting to get embarrassed.
"I'll see you two at practice." Kisaragi immediately got the hint, he knew what this was about. Gaou had mentioned once before in passing that he had feelings for you but didn't bother pursuing those feelings. He was content just having you around.
Kisaragi thought he was being stupid. It was obvious you felt the same, you two were just being difficult.
You hadn't expected Kisaragi to leave so willingly, and now you just stood there face flushed with embarrassment.
"What did you want?" So blunt and straight to the point, just how you had to be right now.
"Will you got out with me?" You did it. You just blurted it out and now it was just out there in the open.
"Okay," he responded so quickly. Your face heated up at his response.
Gaou didn't say anything else after his response, he just started to walk off; heading to practice.
"W-wait really?" You immediately followed after him.
"Why not?"
Then it hit you. Maybe he didn't understand what you really meant. You realize maybe you should have elaborated a little more.
"Hold on." You stopped following him making him stop to look at you.
"I-I mean, I wanna be your girlfriend."
"Oh, okay."
That was it.
It was that simple.
"O-okay," you replied, you were worried for nothing.
"We'll be late." He continued walking not giving you another word.
You followed after him catching up to his side and reached out to hold his hand in yours. He gently held onto your hand when he felt you reach for him.
It really was just that easy.
