Sedona, AZ on Thanksgiving Day. Not sure if all the magical new age vibes of this place really sunk in this time, but had a lot of fun rinsing off in a resort and relaxing.

More Grand Canyon!
Guadalupe Mountains National Park, the west tip of Texas! Wish we could have stayed longer but got a nice little peek and our first night of sleeping on true cold.
Texas Hill Country
First night, quick drive out of the city in the dark to Fredericksburg under the stars! A little scarier and sadder out in the country since the election (even had to stop at a late night wal-mart, a watercolor illustration of our nation’s sorrow and frustration that has led us here). Found this gorgeous wine bar on a Swiss cabins BnB, full of older folks rocking out. Hit it up if you ever need a quirky Fredericksburg meal! Excited to be rolling out.
Trying to piece together what I've learned or discovered this summer, and remembering, oh right, trees don't talk. No one is listening and the notion of "receiving answers" is a desperate fantasy. But I am as comforted by the lack of response as I am saddened, which is the way I always interpreted this song. --------------------------- Summer was gone and the heat died down And Autumn reached for her golden crown I looked behind as I heard a sigh But this was the time of no reply. The sun went down and the crowd went home I was left by the roadside all alone I turned to speak as they went by But this was the time of no reply. The trees on the hill had nothing to say They would keep their dreams till another day So they stood and thought and wondered why For this was the time of no reply.
Chaco Culture National Monument, New Mexico. Had an awesome bike ride across the entire park loop and hiked up the cliff behind the largest ruins. The Great Spirit is present at this "center-place," and not much else. Love it
Awesome day camping at steamboat lake, viewing Hahns Peak (10800 ft) then hiking up for the view of the lake, come back down and swim. Pretty 💯, Colorado
Camping on Fremont Lake in Pinedale, WY then hiking into the Winds for the first time, to Sacred Rim with views of Fremont Peak and Gannett. Simply amazing. Great talks and laughs with family - oh and it's our 13th wedding anniversary this morning. Not bad!
