When Jaskier sings about the garroter in “her sweet kiss” it’s safe to assume he’s talking about Geralt, but first of all. What is a garroter?
A garrote was a weapon used to execution adn torture in medieval Spain. The garroter was the man who operated it, the executioner.
“garroter - someone who kills by strangling. choker, garrotter, throttler, strangler. killer, slayer - someone who causes the death of a person or animal.”
Garrote: ga·rote, ga·rotte, gar·rotte[ guh-roht, -rot ]
noun
a method of capital punishment of Spanish origin in which an iron collar is tightened around a condemned person's neck until death occurs by strangulation or by injury to the spinal column at the base of the brain.
the collar like instrument used for this method of execution.
strangulation or throttling, especially in the course of a robbery.
an instrument, usually a cord or wire with handles attached at the ends, used for strangling a victim.
Jaskier describes Geralt as a beautiful executioner. A lovely executioner. But not with a guillotine or gallows, a methodical method of choking. Deeply personal in some dark twisted way. Tender hands wrapped around his neck.
Take me to church WHO?
#Garaskeir
