My brick project is complete! 265 (approx. some broke) hand poured bricks! Made them all by myself!

I wanted to make a border around my beds but got weak at the thought of loading them onto a cart, into my car, into a wheelbarrow…so I thought buying bags of concrete, dye, and molds and making them on the deck a little at a time would be less work.

In practice? Maybe. It took longer for sure. 3 weeks, doing a batch of 16 bricks a day (ish).

If my math is right (probably not) I saved about 50 bucks.

Would I recommend this method? Well, it was an experience. I learned more about concrete for sure!

But if you have the money, just buy bricks and pay four college kids to do it for you. 👍🏻

I am very proud of how they turned out and think the garden borders look a lot cleaner (they’re straighter in real life)

This is a pretty and simple garden border arrangement… begonias, impatiens, and pink and blue salvias. I don’t see salvias being used too much around here. Probably because some smell bad, but a lot of the newer varieties don’t. These will all bloom until the frost.
