Cleanest Pomni I’ve drawn in traditional art, without reference except the gun X’D

I’m flabbergasted because usually I struggle with her and Jax is the one that looks right, but apparently today it’s the opposite!

Like look at this guy!!!

He’s so messy from the amount of times I’ve redrawn the gun hand aaarg I can’t bring myself to line him because the arms wonky… welp nothing that a digital drawing won’t fix! ٩( ᐛ )و

These two are drawings for a bigger project in my army of wips heh.

Okay. It was like pulling teeth, but I finally got all the back, sides, and top of the long raised bed in the back covered in hardware cloth. Yeehaw.

Thanks to a 12 foot long 2x4 I picked up by the dumpster yesterday (someone had obviously used to to level a newly poured concrete pad or driveway), I came up with a new idea on how to do the front which will be easier. Theoretically.

I'm going to put a new crossbeam halfway up down the length of the bed and attach hardware cloth to the upper portion. Then I'll do two doors for each section (four sections) on the lower half. This way the doors are (a) much lighter and (b) will use shorter lengths of scrap lumber, which I have much more of.

This plan has mostly resolved that feeling of project dread so hopefully it won't be so slow going?

I love this guy's channel, and since his uploads are so infrequent he packs so many projects into each update video. his style is so unique, he has the artist style of gardening that I can't quite access for myself

This week, a project with @folodu which was not words: a Ninja House, because she loves Outside.

Wood, brackets, hasps, hinges are 100% salvage. Paint is leftover from house. Chicken wire was bought on clearance... three years ago, and Life Happened, so the garden plans got delayed and changed a bit. Ninja approves. (She didn’t want to come back inside tbh. 😅)

Rose propagation experiment

My neighbor who has over 30 mature rose plants let me take cuttings from his yard.

Made a giant propagation rack out of some curtain rods, garden mesh, scrap wood, and tape. The clear plastic bin was placed by an east-facing window.

I cut the rose stems at an angle, dipped them in rooting hormone, and placed them in rows by color.

The clear plastic will allow me to keep an eye on the water quality and root development. I will add fertilizer once roots begin to grow.

Finally, I trimmed off all the flowers so the cuttings will devote their energy to root growth. Now it’s time to sit back and wait.

Okay, so I’m going to try and post more of my projects, so here’s one!

With spring here, I’m working on a bee station, with wildflowers, a water dish and a bug house! (there’s also a compost bin in the area that I’ll be painting up all pretty like this too).

This is the bug house. I wanted to paint it up and make it look pretty! Just a quick rush job, but still looks cute!
