Garden Day SA

On the 15th of October, South Africa celebrated its first Garden Day, an initiative by the brilliant Babylonstoren team. It’s been a rather tough year for gardeners with apocalyptic floods in Durban and the frightening drought in Cape Town, so it was really fantastic to see everyone come together for this great initiative (even if it was from afar). I’m proud to be a horticulturist!

It was hardly defiance, standing in the rain, sipping my tea...it was, if anything, determination. Determined to have a cup of tea in my garden, wearing a flower crown from the bounty of my little garden, on this @gardendaysa celebration of Nature's abundance.
