It's a festival that is meant to bring awareness to the dead and people dress up to ward off spirits, then the next day honor and remember those that have fallen. Children dress up in costumes and go to houses and get candy from the willing people.

Oh, interesting. Sounds a lot like the Last City’s Festival of the Lost, which makes sense, since that probably comes from old Earth traditions.
