Many dragons believe that whispering a secret into a leaf and releasing it at night will curry favor with the Shadowbinder.
“Offer up your secrets to the Shadowbinder,” the priest intones, “and know that you may trust in Her discretion.”
“We release the shadows in our souls to You, that we may be empowered to bind the shadows of evil,” the audiences recites in response.
“Give glory to the one who sees what is veiled in darkness.”
“Glory, glory to the one whose power is stronger than our shame.”
“Accept these leaves and the secrets they bear as our offerings to you, we pray, and grace us with your divine favor. May it be so, and may it ever be so.”
"May it be so, and may it ever be so.”
The ritual prayer concluded, the assembled dragons whispered into the leaves in their hands, and as one they lifted their hands and released their leaves into the evening breeze.
