MEDICAL ADVICE:
As a caregiver, I can't tell you how many times I'm out in public after work and people come up to me and start to prod me for medical advice. Like, the fact I'm not a nurse is besides the point. You don't just waltz up to a brain surgeon in the meat department and start inquiring as to why you have a ringing in your ears like wtf??? And then on top of that 4 out of 5 times after telling the person that I'm not in the medical field they either insult me, or call me a liar. Like....fucking hell. Don't ask random people for medical advice.
Today a random woman approached me in Vons because she wanted to know about birth control for her daughter. The pharmacist was standing 5 feet behind her. Like, you want to put your daughters reproductive health in the hands of a stranger just because you don't want to pay for an informed consultation ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
After relaying to her that I am not at liberty to offer her any medical advice, she very sweetly tells me that if I'm not a medically liscensed individual, that I shouldn't wear scrubs outside of work......
If y'all could see the face I'm making.
PEOPLE: please don't do this. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns relating to your health. Do not assume that just because someone is wearing scrubs that they have been to medical school. If you cannot afford a doctor, do some research. Google is a thing that exists. USE IT.
If you do this to me when I am trying to shop for groceries or am otherwise outside of my place of employment, I will call you out on it. It's rude.
