Have you noticed Tyreen's speech pattern? It's more noticeable early in game, but she'll start a sentence perky and lighthearted, then she'll drop in pitch and say something ominous and threatening. It's not all of her dialogue, but it's all of her dialogue early on. I've never seen a more obvious crutch in writing, and it isn't even writing! It's speaking! Her VA is so good but did they not realize Ty's dialogue is almost monotonous?

Definitely noticed this and it was hard to ignore once you picked it up. I don’t think it’s her VA’s issue, I think Eliza did great with the very few lines of remotely interesting dialogue she was handed. I think it’s a combo of not being as experienced with “working with what you got” as Max is, and that she just wasn’t given lines with gravitas in the first place.  The only lines I can think of where Tyreen could have pushed the “Ok I’m dropping the persona now and we can actually talk as real people” opportunity Max got while talking about Troy’s childhood or in the Jacob’s manor, were her few interactions with Typhon.

Those could have been fantastic, but it feels like she was pushed to just come across as angry during them, and making Ty’s only real emotional plays she had throughout the game being anger and conceitedness? You end up with these VA tropes you noted.

Start with: Quirky! Funny! Making light of the situation! Then: Threatening, attempts at intimidation, ominous statement.

Over and over almost every communication, repeated till you got bored of it. Max is a very experienced VA with a huge amount of time under his belt and a massive skillset, who got given the character that had moments of depth written for them.  Eliza was handed the one that apparently only ever needed to be angry and kinda a bitch, she did great with what she had and I hope to hear her in more VA work in the future. Honestly, it’s not just her. Think of Lilith’s dialogue throughout the game, Maya’s. Excellent VAs struggling to make bland dialogue remotely engaging. It was a global issue for a lot of characters in Bl3. “Hey, killer.”

Some Momara thoughts

I blame @border-spam and @garlicbreadbowl for giving me something I didn't know I needed Until I did.  I wanted to throw some of my own thoughts onto the mom Amara and her adopted feral son train.

Amara teaching Troy to mediate, the Boy is full of angry energy and like she’d rather he find a less destructive outlet for that

Amara teaching Troy how to actually throw a punch on her punching bag  because damn all the meditating in the world can’t solve the sheer amount of nervous energy Troy emits. and she realises it’s because if he’s idle for too long he doesn’t know what to do with himself and starts feeling worthless so she gives him an outlet.

Amara earning Troy’s trust and realising just how tightly wound her new adopted son is and casually getting him to agree to let her try acupuncture on him  

Troy is like fifty percent certain that she’s really just gonna kill him but hey what’s the worst that could happen 

Oh surprise! it totally helps with his chronic pain 

She’s just super concerned with how this sickly  child has made it this far like please eat more food Troy you look like you’re going to break  

She takes him to kitchens when he mentions he can cook, He’s scared of Moxxi but whose gonna mess with him when his new mom is like right there 

Speaking of which don’t give Troy dirty looks while Amara’s around, he’s trying his best what are you doing?

This is Butter!! He is simply a baby. Very dumb but so very cute. He likes watching TV and licking plastic bags and being made of some kind of pudding substance. No bones here! Just baby.

Here he is cuddling his sister, Peanut!

The ones I thought you'd like the most, with worms/centipedes, butter/dragonfly, Lizard, turtle, frogs, a fish, snail, ladybug, and a seahorse. I thought the worms were slugs at first but upon closer inspection, they are not :(

oh my god theres so many of them, also yeah i love the little caterpillar ones and that ladybug is super cute :) i recognise a few of these as ones i had as a kid but it looks like they started making more interesting looking pets whenever i stopped getting these, those super colourful ones and the ones with patterns are great BACK IN MY DAY we only had lps toys that came in the same colouration as the actual real life animals

Her name is Peanut and her brother's name is Butter. She is a sassy woman who drools during cuddles and will not let you ignore her requests to go out on the porch. She also, more often than not, loses her neck in her copious amounts of fluff. You can touch her and leave an indent because shes so soft and squishy.
