Plot Summary:
Garth, Tasmia, Cham, Rokk, Dirk go to Medivac on Mercury to check on Val, who brought Iris there to cure her. Dr. Zebx asks them to solve the mystery of disappearing patients. Cham solves the mystery and they find that the disappearing patients were disintegrated by sentient heat-beings accidentally passing through them. Only Dirk is able to communicate with them.
Corvan IV is seeking admission to the UP, and it turns out the Fatal Five have found a home there and developed the planet. Jan, Clark, and Gim are sent to investigate whether they can join the UP or not, and decide there's too much culture shock, so the Fatal Five attack. Clark escapes to get help but Jan and Gim are defeated.
